Has Jos Buttler realised he’s got to get his hired bike back by 9pm?

Jos Buttler is putting on a show here for the crowd at The Oval.

    Media caption,

'He's putting on a show!' - Buttler ramps Alzarri Joseph for six

    That's quite outrageous.

Alzarri Joseph saw Jos Buttler moving across for the ramp but such is his skill, he managed to get the shot away anyway. It's way over the rope.

    Eight needed.

All this film chatter has become quite distracting (I know, I know, I started it) - we've had some rogue entries in the office and a lengthy discussion about where you can watch The Bill.

Back to the cricket - Buttler is now taking on Gudakesh Motie. It's a quite punishing shot for four.

Jos Buttler wants to wrap this match up! His first four is nicked, his next two are absolutely pounded.

He's raced to 17 off just eight balls.

Jos Buttler is looking considerably more composed than at Sophia Gardens, where his (brief) performance could only be described as skittish.

He's picked up where Joe Root left out, trading singles with Harry Brook.

Is that the first time ever a Joseph has been caught by a Joseph from a ball bowled by a Joseph.

England are cruising here. Credit to Alzarri Joseph, he's looked head and shoulders above the rest of the West Indian bowlers.

You do have to admire the West Indies. They've not given up and made it hard for England to get these runs.

    Right, back to lulls.

The film quote which flashed across my brain as I read your message, Kevin, was this: "Can you ever be just whelmed?" "I think you can in Europe." We use it a lot in our family. I will award points to whoever correctly identifies the film.

It's not really relevant to lulls but I wanted to share. I don't think a sudden lull is possible. But I can't explain why.

Joe Root is such a selfless player, such a team man. He's furious because he would've wanted to get it done.

Shamar Joseph has that sharp bouncer, he has that ability to rush you and hit that splice.

Really well caught in the end, diving forward. Joe Root has to go, shaking his head.
