That is proper skill from Naveen. Marsh didn't pick it.

    Marsh c Nabi b Naveen-ul-Haq 12 (Aus 16-2) Target 149

    Well, well, well.

Just as Mitchell Marsh got going, a slower ball from Naveen-ul-Haq catches him out.

Marsh spoons it up into the air and Mohammad Nabi has an easy catch at mid-off, which he takes.

Afghanistan feel like the side on top right now.

  5. Aus 16-1published at 2.1 overs

    Target 149

Australia's captain starts the third over with a well-timed drive between cover and backward point.

    He finds four. Great shot.

I don't agree with Wiviz here. I make it 60-40 to Afghanistan.

That was quite an audacious stroke from David Warner.

  8. Aus 12-1published at 2 overs

    Target 149

An 11-run over for Australia, all coming from Marsh or via byes.

Farooqi got two deliveries at David Warner, both were dots, including one wild swing and miss.

Marsh is very calm under pressure and that's probably why they've given him the captaincy.

  10. Aus 11-1published at 1.3 overs

    Target 149

A lovely shot from Mitchell Marsh finds the first boundary to come off the bat in this innings.

A smidge of width offered by Farooqi and Marsh drives through mid-off for four.

  11. How's stat?!published at 03:22 British Summer Time 23 June

Of batters to have batted more than once in this World Cup, Australia's David Warner has the best strike-rate in the first six overs - he has a strike-rate of 175, just ahead of England's Phil Salt (169).

And if you're a fan of match-ups, the bowler with the best strike-rate (of those with more than two wickets) in the first six overs during this competition is Afghanistan's Fazalhaq Farooqi, who has struck eight times with the new ball.

    Game on!

  12. Aus 5-1published at 1.1 overs

    Target 149

Fazalhaq Farooqi, the World Cup's leading wicket-taker, concedes a boundary off his first ball.

Not that it will go against his figures though, finding Marsh's pad and running fine for four leg-byes.

Two or three good overs back to back and Australia are under huge pressure.

  14. Aus 1-1published at 1 overs

    What a start from Naveen-ul-Haq.

Just one single, nursed by captain Mitchell Marsh, opens the scoring for Australia.

That is a dream start - 148 is a massive total on this pitch. You can't do a lot about that delivery as a batter.

    Head b Naveen-ul-Haq 0 (Aus 0-1 - Target 149)

    Bowled!

An absolute peach of a delivery from Naveen-ul-Haq sends Travis Head back for an early shower.

Full and straight, Head is clean bowled and Afghanistan put a huge mark of pressure on Australia inside three balls.

  18. Aus 0-0published at 0.1 overs

    Target 149

Travis Head has just faced an almighty surprise at that first ball from Naveen. Not a short ball or a bouncer, but it popped up off the pitch quite some way.

In shock, Head lets out a wry smile and a noise of shock.

  19. Postpublished at 03:15 British Summer Time 23 June

Travis Head and David Warner will open for Australia and they know that they are 149 runs away from reaching the T20 World Cup semi-finals.

Naveen-ul-Haq will open the bowling for Afghanistan.

Let's get this chase under way!

I find Harry Brook's comments that hopefully they can go out and give the USA a good “battering” a little bit unnecessary. He’s fallen on his face a few times before - I was hoping he’d learnt his lesson!
