  1. wicket

WICKET Luxton b White 49published at 10:58 British Summer Time

    Yorks 392-3 v Northants 147

Northants strike in the first half hour of play with the new ball.

Will Luxton misses out on a half century as he misses with a defensive push off Jack White and loses his off stump.

Now Jonny Bairstow is coming in to bat.

    This could be interesting...

  2. Postpublished at 10:55 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Warwickshire 154-4

Jacob Duffy again raps the pad, this time of Sam Hain as the Bears batters continue to struggle against the Kiwi quick. Two from the over.

Brett Hutton's 16th over costs just a leg bye.

  3. Postpublished at 10:52 British Summer Time

    Yorks 391-2 v Northants 147

    Yorkshire are progressing nicely here.

James Wharton and Will Luxton trade singles off the bowling of Jack White, adding five more runs to the innings score, including a leg bye.

Luxton tries to follow a leg side ball from Justin Broad but doesn't make contact.

Nailed it this time! A full delivery, steered through backward point for four to reach 49.

He drives the last ball down the ground and Broad fields off his own bowling. No run there.

Drinks, gloves and perhaps instructions for the Yorkshire pair are coming on the the field now...

  4. wicket

WICKET Kashif c Hurst b Anderson 1published at 10:46 British Summer Time

    Worcs 180 & 6-2 v Lancs 177

    This could get messy.

A really loose shot as Kashif Ali throws his hands at the ball and nicks behind to give wicketkeeper Matty Hurst a routine catch.

Anderson Phillip has two wickets in double-quick time.

    Rob Jones joins Gareth Roderick.

  5. Postpublished at 10:46 British Summer Time

    Sussex 130-2 v Middlesex 271

Four more runs to Tom Haines, clipping a leg side ball fine from the bowling of Tom Helm.

He gets a single off the fourth ball and drives Ethan Bamber through cover for four more.

A bright start for Sussex this morning as they look to get the 250 which would seal the Division Two title.

  6. Postpublished at 10:46 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Warwickshire 151-4

    Nice over from Brett Hutton.

The Notts seamer beats the outside edge for the first time today as Ed Barnard plays forward.

He's keen to get off strike and almost too keen. Barnard has to run hard and ends up cuddling the umpire at the non-striker's end.

  7. Postpublished at 10:43 British Summer Time

    Worcs 180 & 2-1 v Lancs 177

Anderson Phillip is bang on the money straightaway and opens up with a wicket-maiden.

Tom Bailey caused a whole heap of problems for the Pears batters in the first innings and the paceman again shares the new ball.

After defending for five dots, Gareth Roderick picks up a two to get the Pears total up and running.

  8. Postpublished at 10:42 British Summer Time

    Yorks 382-2 v Northants 147

Yorkshire have to make all the running here and Will Luxton adds to his score straight away, crashing Justin Broad through cover point for four runs.

This is still a new ball though and Jack White gets a bit of nip away from the bat off the seam at the other end.

Broad drops short in his next over and James Wharton slaps the ball away through long leg for four runs as the ball beats Jack White to the rope.

Might the charge be on here?

  9. wicket

WICKET: Singh c Robinson b de Leede 1published at 10:40 British Summer Time

    Durham 360 v Kent 96-4

OK, if a solid Kent batting display was the target, not an ideal start...

Nightwatchman Jas Singh is on his way in the second over, glancing Bas de Leede down the leg side for Ollie Robinson to take his second catch of the innings.

Joe Denly is the new batter.

  10. 150 runs

150 up for Warwickshirepublished at 10:40 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Warwickshire 150-4

Sam Hain picks up a single to the second ball of the day and Ed Barnard then gets up and running immediately with two off Brett Hutton.

The pair end the first over of the day by trading singles.

off Jacob Duffy twice unleashes big appeals after trapping both batters on the crease. Not out.

A lovely cover drive from Barnard is well stopped in the field, but they trot through for a single which brings up the 150.

Busy start for the Bears batters.

  11. Postpublished at 10:39 British Summer Time

    Sussex 120-2 v Middlesex 271

Tom Haines tries to steer the ball into the off side but doesn't clear the field this time. No run.

He gets his first run of the day to backward point and the second over of the day will be bowled by Ethan Bamber.

His first ball from the Cromwell Road End is wide of off and smashed through cover by Haines for four runs.

He gets a single off the fifth ball to long leg and Tom Alsop keeps the strike with a nudge through mid wicket for one more.

  12. Play begins at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 10:36 British Summer Time

    Durham 360 v Kent 96-3

Kent will be glad to see the back of a miserable campaign, in which their descent to Division Two has always looked probable.

They'd like to finish with a solid batting display here and Jack Leaning, who resumes on 31, plays out a maiden from Daniel Hogg to begin the final day's play.

  13. Play begins at Chelmsfordpublished at 10:34 British Summer Time

    Essex 508-8 dec v Surrey 32-1

It's Chelmsford, so that means Simon Harmer has ball in hand to begin this final day - one that will end with Surrey lifting the County Championship trophy for the third year running.

The champions will be looking to bat all day if possible, you'd think. Dom Sibley begins proceedings by taking two from the first over and moves on to 15.

  14. Play under way at Headingleypublished at 10:32 British Summer Time

    Yorks 371-2 v Northants 147

James Wharton battingImage source, Rex Features

The Division Two title is still a mathematical possibility if Yorkshire pick up maximum batting points and bowl Northants out within the day's play.

But they would still need Sussex to lose to Middlesex at Hove - and get bowled out for less than 250 in their first innings.

We're expecting fireworks! Why not? Might as well go for it.

Will Luxton will face the first ball of the day on 37 not out, facing Justin Broad, who has four deliveries left to complete his over, disrupted by bad light last night.

James Wharton stroked a brilliant century last night and scored the precious single that confirmed Yorkshire's promotion.

He's at the other end on 162.

  15. wicket

WICKET Libby c and b Phillip 0published at 10:31 British Summer Time

    Worcs 180 & 0-1 v Lancs 177

What a start to the final day!

Anderson Phillip runs in to start play.

Jake Libby pushes forward and chips a straightforward catch back to the bowler.

His season is over. Kashif Ali is in for the second ball of the day.

  16. Final Day begins at Hovepublished at 10:31 British Summer Time

    Sussex 112-2 v Middlesex 271

The hosts begin the day with fate firmly in their hands.

They have 77 overs to score another 138 runs to become Division Two champions.

That should be pretty straightforward, even against one of the strongest bowling attacks in the division.

Sussex have already picked up 35 batting bonus points before this round.

Coincidentally, their closest rivals (Yorkshire) had 36 at that stage.

    On to business.

Tom Haines is 53 not out and he'll face Tom Helm first up this morning.

The other Tom (Alsop) is unbeaten on 11 at the non-striker's end.

  17. Play starts at Trent Bridgepublished at 10:31 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Warwickshire 143-4

Both teams are safe - will they fix a declaration and a chase?

Bears batters Sam Hain (59) and Ed Barnard (21) to resume their 38-run partnership.

Brett Hutton to open the bowling on day four.

  18. Play under way at New Roadpublished at 10:30 British Summer Time

    Worcs 180 & 0-0 v Lancs 177

How will Lancashire players approach today?

It can’t be easy going out there knowing relegation has been sealed, but I’m sure they’ll want to go out with a bang.

Worcestershire openers Jake Libby and Gareth Roderick walk to the crease and Anderson Phillip will open the bowling.

    Let's play.
