  1. 'Lancashire fighting to preserve dignity'published at 12:46 British Summer Time

    Worcestershire 180 & 78-6 v Lancashire 177 - lunch, day four

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Worcester

It's the final lunch on the final day of the longest-running County Championship - and the sixth Worcestershire wicket of the morning has everyone shuffling off at pace for their burger and chips.

Worcestershire are already safe - and homing in on their highest Championship finish since two-division cricket was invented in the year 2000.

Lancashire are already relegated - but fighting hard to at least preserve their dignity.

So, on this history-making first-ever Sunday finish to a Championship season, there is still a game on here.

  3. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time

    Durham 360 v Kent 192-4

It looks as though Kent are on their way to ending a fairly disastrous season with an honourable draw - they need just another 19 runs to banish the possibility of having to follow on.

Jack Leaning and Joe Denly, unbeaten on 70 and 51 respectively, have shared a stand of 96 so far since nightwatchman Jas Singh was out in the second over of the day.

Farhan Ahmed's 21st over costs just a single to Sam Hain and that's lunch.

A good morning for Warwickshire who look to have removed the prospect of defeat.

Early wickets would have given the home side faint hope of forcing a result, but Ed Barnard (77) and Hain (104) survived a few early scares and have batted well to add 105 runs in the session.

Their partnership is up to 143 and handshakes all around an hour after tea look more than likely.

  5. Lunch at Hove as Sussex close in on Division Two trophypublished at 12:34 British Summer Time

    Sussex 239-4 v Middlesex 271

John Simpson defends Luke Hollman down the ground and Sussex go to lunch 11 runs short of the Division Two Championship title.

Tom Haines was the mainstay of the Sussex batting, scoring 105 - which is his third century of the season.

James Coles is eight not out and Simpson has two.

  6. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time

    Essex 508-8 dec v Surrey 138-4

Dom Sibley is going along nicely, using his feet to the spinners and dispatching them over the rope on the leg side on more than one occasion to reach 84 at lunch.

Former Essex player Dan Lawrence is 18 not out at the other end as Surrey look to bat their way to safety after losing three wickets earlier this morning.

  7. Lunch at Headingleypublished at 12:32 British Summer Time

    Yorks 559-3 v Northants 147

Perhaps surprisingly there is no declaration from Yorkshire, who now lead by a gargantuan 412 with James Wharton on 268 not out and Jonny Bairstow unbeaten on 65.

  8. wicket

WICKET and LUNCH - Brookes lbw b Williams 10published at 12:31 British Summer Time

    Worcs 180 & 78-6 v Lancs 177

Ethan Brookes' 45-ball vigil is over.

Will Williams beats the defensive push and traps Brookes on his front pad.

The umpire raises his finger and that will be lunch.

Lancashire may have been relegated but they have a chance of going out with a bang, picking up six wickets.

Tom Bailey and Anderson Phillip have two apiece and the Pears lead is 81.

  9. Postpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time

    Yorks 551-3 v Northants 147

Yorkshire pass 550 in 107.1 overs as Jonny Bairstow is back and across to Fateh Singh, drilling the spinner with a flat-batted slap down the ground for four runs.

No declaration from the hosts yet.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Joe Denlypublished at 12:28 British Summer Time

    Durham 360 v Kent 189-4

Having been stuck in the 40s for a while, Joe Denly takes advantage of a wide delivery from James Minto to steer him from an off-side single and bring up his 50 from 82 balls.

It's a fourth half-century of the campaign for the former England player.

  11. Postpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time

    Worcs 180 & 76-5 v Lancs 177

Ethan Brookes is in full-on wall mode, reaching three off 35 balls as the Pears look to see off the spectre of defeat.

But out of nowhere he throws his hands at a George Balderson delivery. Fortunately for him the ball bounces just in front of Anderson Phillip at backward point.

Balderson then traps Brookes in front, but the umpire rejects the noisy appeal before the batter then cracks him away through the covers.

Good work on the boundary from Tom Hartley saves a run as Brookes picks up three more.

  12. wicket

WICKET Haines b Hollman 105published at 12:24 British Summer Time

    Sussex 233-4 v Middlesex 271

He will be a bit disappointed not to be at the crease for the precious 250th run but this has still been a fine innings.

Tom Haines is a bit foxed by the bounce here as he tries to work leg spinner Luke Hollman away from the crease and loses his off stump.

Sussex captain John Simpson will bat next.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Jonny Bairstowpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time

    Yorks 542-3 v Northants 147

The umpires have taken the dreaded light meter reading and we're playing on for now.

Left-arm spinner Saif Zaib is coming on to bowl to Jonny Bairstow - who is on 46.

His third ball is only a tad short and smashed by Bairstow over mid wicket going back and across for six!

That's a barnstorming 50 off 58 balls with one six and eight fours.

  14. 100 runs

100 for Sam Hainpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Warwickshire 236-4

    There it is!

Like a few other Bears batters, it's not been the best of campaigns for Sam Hain.

But he will take a positive memory on his holidays and into winter nets as he turns Freddie McCann into the legside. He has to sprint for the single which brings his second Championship century of the season.

It's the 19th ton of Hain's red-ball career and comes off 202 balls, with11 fours.

  15. 100 runs

100 for Tom Hainespublished at 12:16 British Summer Time

    Sussex 229-3 v Middlesex 271

Tom Haines celebrates centuryImage source, Rex Features

Spinner Luke Hollman bowls to Tom Haines on 99...

A leg side ball disappears for four byes. Knee high full toss!

The next ball is cut through backward point for four!

That's his third century of the season and the 12th of his career.

    161 balls with 13 fours.

Sussex need 21 more runs to clinch the Division Two title.

  16. Hain's heart in his mouthpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Warwickshire 226-4

Sam Hain has just one century this season and on 95 he almost sees his hopes of a second disappear as he pushes forward and gets an outside edge to Farhan Ahmed.

It drops just short of the solitary slip, Joe Clarke.

  17. dropped catch

Dropped catch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time

    Durham 360 v Kent 175-4

Dear me. It may not matter too much at the end of the day, but that's a poor drop by Callum Parkinson on the boundary.

Joe Denly, five short of his half-century, goes for the hook against James Minto and Parkinson gets right underneath the ball at long leg - then somehow spills it.

Denly, along with Jack Leaning, is batting Kent towards safety in this game. Another 36 will usher the visitors beyond the follow-on target.

  18. 250 runs

250 for James Whartonpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time

    Yorks 519-3 v Northants 147

James Wharton celebratesImage source, Rex Features

James Wharton faces Fateh Singh on 249...

Back and across to cut to deep point for one and that's 250 off 289 balls with 30 fours and eight sixes.

He's only the third Yorkshire player to score 250 against Northants.

  19. Postpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time

    Worcs 180 & 70-5 v Lancs 177

Will Williams into the attack at first-change for Lancashire and Adam Hose welcomes him by hitting his third ball for four.

George Balderson then strays down leg and flicks off Hose's thigh to give wicketkeeper Matty Hurst no chance. Four runs.

  20. Postpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time

    Yorks 518-3 v Northants 147

Six more for James Wharton to move to 248! His eighth six to go with 30 fours.

He's belted James Sanderson over long on going forward with a beautifully lofted drive.

Spinner Fateh Singh is round the wicket to Jonny Bairstow, who goes inside-out to drive through extra cover for two. He's on 42 off 39 balls.

    Single to extra cover.

Wharton carves the next ball through backward point for a single.
