I'm thinking that's still leg side.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 51.3 overs

    Verreynne lbw b Cummins 13 (SA 126-6)

Three reds. Kyle Verreynne has to depart for 13.

That feels like an important breakthrough for Australia. It's not the big wicket of David Bedingham but Cummins has stopped the partnership.

It's out. It's hitting flush, according to the technology.

Pat Cummins was appealing and now they've gone to DRS because Cummins was absolutely convinced.

My gut said it was going down leg.

  9. Aus reviewpublished at 51.3 overs

Pat Cummins thinks he's got Kyle Verreynne out lbw.

His appeal - arms in the air, running backwards - is so enthusiastic that he collides with the batter.

The umpire, mid-wince, says not out. Cummins reviews.

As a Saffa, I'm extremely proud of our boys!! They are doing their best, doing so well - considering the advantages that Australia have (much more money, great coaching etc)

Was hoping for a bit more rain. I’ve got Saturday tickets that are looking like they’re not getting redeemed.

If you would've offered South Africa to only lose one wicket in that first session, then they would've signed up straight away.

You'd say Australia are still ahead but it's in the balance.

  15. SA 123-5published at 50 overs

A single apiece for Kyle Verreynne and David Bedingham.

Josh Hazlewood puts in a sharp diving stop to deny the latter a boundary.

South Africa would've taken this in the morning. This session will be the one which tells us who's really in control.

For David Bedingham, it is the most important innings of his Test career so far and he's still out there, so if he can go and make it count, it will do a lot for him and South African cricket.

  18. Postpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 12 June

The players are back out after that brief rain delay.

South Africa are 121-5, trailing Australia by 91 runs. David Bedingham has 39 (95) and Kyle Verreynne is on 11 (30).
