  1. Ind 60-0published at 9 overs

    Target 252

    Great start from Mitchell Santner.

Just a single off the over with India's openers not even attempting to play any big shots. It seems they'll take what they can off the Black Caps skipper and go after the other bowlers.

You just feel that India's batters will deal with New Zealand's spin bowlers better than when it was the other way around.

Big moment in the game as New Zealand turn to spin. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner is into the attack.

Rohit has had a lot of stick in recent months, remember. He was captain when India lost a Test series at home to New Zealand.

He was dropped despite being skipper for the must-win final Test against Australia in January.

Now this partisan crowd is chanting his name and he's pummeling the bowling.

This is absolutely ruthless from Rohit Sharma.

  6. Ind 59-0published at 8 overs

    Rohit 47, Gill 7

There's no stopping him at the moment.

Rohit Sharma goes across his stumps and adds four more with a shot that is half sweep, half scoop over short fine leg.

He then climbs into a short wide ball and pummels it over the off side for four.

The six earlier in the over brought up the fifty partnership, Shubman Gill is on seven...

That's incredible timing, an incredible swing and you can just tell that's shaken up New Zealand's form a little bit.

    Target 252

Rohit Sharma is a man on a mission!

Length ball from Nathan Smith and Rohit hammers it back over the bowler's head.

The ball goes a long, long way up but just long enough to carry for six.

New Zealand need to stop this onslaught before this final gets away from them entirely.

Rohit Sharma is a delightful player to watch.

  11. Ind 45-0published at 7 overs

    Target 252

    So dismissive from Rohit Sharma.

Kyle Jamieson drops short again and is swatted over mid-wicket, a couple of bounces for four.

'That really should have been taken!' - Mitchell drops Gill at mid-wicket

You don't see that often - New Zealand have dropped a catch.

It's Shubman Gill, taking a step down the pitch to Kyle Jamieson and whipping it towards mid-wicket.

Daryl Mitchell goes one-handed to his right. It would have been a stunning catch but he can't cling on.

With such a modest score on the board, even half chances like those need to be taken by New Zealand.

Rohit Sharma has played a few big shots but overall, he's just hit it where it needs to be.

It's a good wicket to face the new ball.

The way India have chased on this ground, Rohit Sharma will take advantage of the powerplay, everyone else is happy to knock the ball along the carpet.

  15. Ind 39-0published at 6 overs

    Rohit 28, Gill 6

Shubman Gill has been able to take his time and play himself in so far with his skipper having got off to a flying start at the other end.

New Zealand will already be thinking that they need to find a wicket pretty sharpish.

If you're New Zealand, you're panicking a bit. Rohit Sharma hasn't gone off for a monster score yet in this tournament, he's due one.

'The best of Rohit Sharma' - Indian captain advances down the crease to hit thumping six

Nathan Smith into the attack and his third ball disappears over long on for six!

Just as New Zealand were starting to slow things down a little, Rohit Sharma skips down the track and launches the seamer into the stands.

    Brilliant hit.

  19. Ind 31-0published at 5 overs

    Target 252

Tidy over from Kyle Jamieson with just a single from it.

The seamer does get away with a loose ball to finish. Short, wide but slapped straight to the fielder at cover by Shubman Gill.
