So Somerset are heading back to Finals Day for a fifth year in a row, aiming to repeat their success of 2023.

Hampshire are in an 11th Finals Day and their fourth in five years, underlining their T20 prowess under captain James Vince.

Remarkably, Lancashire have only once lifted this trophy - back in 2015 - but they have been regulars in the Edgbaston jamboree.

While Northants will be the big underdogs in their first Finals Day since 2016 when they won the Blast. But will the Steelbacks copy Gloucestershire's surprise success from 12 months ago?

It promises to be the usual mix of fours, sixes, fancy dress and fun on the longest day in the cricket calendar.

    Who fancies it?

  3. 'Sean Dickson had it and the Bears didn't'published at 21:51 BST 6 September

Somerset (191-6) beat Bears (190-6) by four wickets

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

The Bears did an awful lot of things right in that game and yet they will be able to find a lot of places where the marginal difference was made.

They didn't quite have the power hitting they'd have hoped for, although they did score tremendously well in the early overs and took advantage of some slightly loose bowling.

But they did lose momentum in the second half of their innings. In the field they were excellent and they were better in running between the wickets.

But ultimately power hitting decided this game, as it has so often in T20 cricket in recent years, and Sean Dickson had it and the Bears didn't.

  4. 'Trust the process and the swing' - Dicksonpublished at 21:48 BST 6 September

Somerset (191-6) beat Bears (190-6) by four wickets

Somerset's batting hero Sean Dickson gave his thoughts on a pulsating finish at Taunton:

Speaking to Sky Sports, Dickson said: "We’re just really chuffed to get over the line. We always thought anything under 200 here was very manageable for us, the guys were positive and we’ve had a good campaign so we believed.

“When I got in we needed to chase 12-an-over, so it was just about playing your shots, trusting your shots. All credit to our bowlers who kept them under 200.

“It’s about playing it ball by ball and if it’s in your area it needs to go, you have to make sure that in the moment you just watch the ball, trust the process and the swing.

“The supporters have been fantastic the whole season and the whole time I’ve been here – they show up in their numbers every time and make it a lot easier for us.”

I'm almost speechless after that. That was absolutely incredible.

I thought Somerset with 10 or 12 to go were dead and buried and in comes Sean Dickson. We know what he's capable of, he's done it so many times for Somerset but that was a very, very special innings.

The Bears will be devastated. They had the control of that match until virtually throughout until Sean Dickson came in and was magnificent.

What an incredible game of cricket.

    Sensational stuff from Sean Dickson!
