  1. Notts reach 100 for three down at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:54 23 June

    Notts 100-3 v Somerset

Jack Haynes picks up three runs off Kasey Aldridge via a cut through wide mid off to take Notts to 100 in exactly 28 overs.

This has been quite an even session of play with three wickets falling and runs flowing.

  2. Gubbins dropped on 28published at 12:51 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 92-1

Dropped! Nick Gubbins cuts and edges Will Rhodes to Sam Hain and the ball goes straight through him at chest height to third man for four.

Definitely got his hands to that but appeared to misjudge the pace.

  3. 'Pears need one more to get up to par'published at 12:49 23 June

    Worcs v 80-2 v Surrey

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

We always ask on day one what's par, what's expected at lunch?

I always say 85-3 is my par score at lunch.

I think if you only lose two in the first session, especially if you've been put into bat then you've probably had the best of the morning.

If you lose three and you get 80 odd it's about level and if you get four as a bowling team then you've probably edged it.

So by my reckoning Worcestershire need one more if they are to get up to par.

  4. Postpublished at 12:48 23 June

    Notts 93-3 v Somerset

Joe Clarke dabs at a Craig Overton ball outside off and pushes the ball safely to third man for a couple of runs.

A half LBW shout is turned down as the ball strikes the pad via an inside edge.

Overton is getting the ball to move into off stump via the seam here.

  5. Postpublished at 12:48 23 June

    Worcs v Surrey 80-2

Shoaib Bashir concedes his first boundary as Dom Sibley on-drives for four - he certainly loves that shot.

Jamie Smith pulls a short one from Adam Finch to the mid-wicket boundary in the next over as the two Surrey batters bring up a 50 partnership from 87 balls.

  6. 50 for Durham's Leespublished at 12:47 23 June

    Essex v Durham 123-2

The 50s are coming in their droves now.

Alex Lees' half-century has come off 81 balls, featuring seven fours and a six.

And it's given Durham an excellent platform at title hopefuls Essex.

  7. Postpublished at 12:44 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 86-1

A close call for Fletcha Middleton who drives Will Rhodes and beats slip at full stretch as the ball runs away for two.

A single off the next ball and Nick Gubbin steers the fifth ball past gully for two.

Shot! Gubbins ends the over with a stylish drive through long off for four.

  8. 'A pretty decent morning for Kent'published at 12:44 23 June

    Kent 85-2 v Lancashire

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

If they're two down at lunch, I think the home side are pretty happy.

If Ben Compton and Joey Evison get to lunch and are still going.

It's been a pretty decent morning for Kent.

  9. Leach into the attackpublished at 12:40 23 June

    Notts 81-3 v Somerset

The Somerset and England spinner gets off to a slightly expensive start, conceding successive fours off the bat of Jack Haynes, who sweeps and then glances the ball through square leg.

Good flight and a hint of turn in most of that over though, with just a couple more singles scored after that brace of fours.

  10. 800 up for Bedingham in 2024published at 12:38 23 June

    Essex v Durham 115-2

David Bedingham needed just five runs this morning to pass the 800 mark for the County Championship season - and that proved no problem.

The South African is the Championship's leading run scorer this season and he's just cracked Simon Harmer for six in a demonstration of why.

Soon after, he survives a loud lbw shout from Shane Snater - but replays show the delivery was comfortably going down leg side.

  11. 50 for Fletcha Middletonpublished at 12:36 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 77-1

Bowling change at Edgbaston and now medium pacer Will Rhodes is going to have a bowl.

Fletcha Middleton drives on 49 and that's a fine diving stop in the covers.

He'll get to 50 this time, pushing the fourth ball for a single into the off side.

79 balls, seven fours and a six.

That's his third score of 50 or more this season.

  12. 50 for Adam Lythpublished at 12:35 23 June

    Yorks 84-0 v Gloucs

Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth already has three Championship centuries this season - is he on course for another?

After hoisting Ed Middleton over mid-wicket for six in the previous over, he cover drives an angled ball from Ajeet Singh Dale to reach 50 off 84 balls.

Gloucestershire opted to bowl first in this game - wonder if they still think that was the right decision.

  13. Postpublished at 12:33 23 June

    Worcs v 62-2 v Surrey

Who has read the conditions correctly?

Surrey have packed their side for this game with five pace bowlers.

Worcestershire have England spin bowler Shoaib Bashir in their XI and with just under half an hour to go before lunch, here he comes for his first over of the match.

  14. Postpublished at 12:31 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 73-1

Fletcha Middleton is on the back foot, driving Ed Barnard through point for three runs.

Nick Gubbins leaves the ball outside off.

  15. Postpublished at 12:30 23 June

    Kent 71-2 v Lancashire

Everyone's favourite Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon into the attack for Lancashire.

Three runs from his first ball but five dots to follow - "bowlin' Naaaaaaath".

  16. 50 up for Surreypublished at 12:29 23 June

    Worcs v Surrey 56-2

    Shot!

Adam Finch overpitches and Dom Sibley drills it back between the stumps and mid-on for four.

Two balls later, the ball disappears through the covers for another as Sibley moves to 29 not out.

  17. Division Two updatepublished at 12:26 23 June

No joy yet for Gloucestershire and Adam Lyth's latest boundary takes Yorkshire to 66-0 after 21 overs at Scarborough.

Emilio Gay clips Harry Podmore away for four as he and Luke Procter bring up a 50 partnership for Northants, who are 72-2 against Glamorgan.

Middlesex lose their second wicket at Lord's as Mark Stoneman is caught behind off Anuj Dal for 30 - they are 67-2 against Derbyshire, with Max Holden on 33 not out.

Sussex are 70-3 against Leicestershire after Oli Carter picks up a ball from Scott Currie and deposits it over mid-wicket for six.

  18. 'Bosch bowling really well on his debut'published at 12:25 23 June

    Essex v Durham 100-2

    David Brett
    BBC Essex

Essex will be pleased they've got that second wicket with plenty of runs scored this morning.

It was a difficult start for Durham with balls flying off the edges, inside, outside, off the shoulders of the bat and lbw appeals going up as well and then suddenly they started playing some shots - smashing Simon Harmer to all parts of the County Ground.

But Eathan Bosch is bowling really well on his debut.

  19. WICKET Young LBW b Aldridge 19published at 12:25 23 June

    Notts v Somerset 71-3

    Notts lose two in two.

Slater departs to the last ball of the Pretorius over and now all rounder Kasey Aldridge strikes with the first ball of the next over.

Most of his deliveries have shaped away from the bat but on this occasion Will Young misses one that goes the other way and hits the pad in line with the stumps.

    Jack Haynes is in next.

  20. 100 up for Durhampublished at 12:25 23 June

    Essex v Durham 100-2

Durham comfortably the quickest side to three figures on this opening day of the eighth round of County Championship fixtures.

Admittedly they're two wickets down - but two of their most regular, reliable run scorers, Alex Lees (40no) and David Bedingham (15no) are at the crease.
