    Migael PretoriusImage source, Rex Features

Will Young miscues an attempted drive off Migael Pretorius and drags the ball through mid wicket for one.

It's a no ball. Pretorius has over stepped.

He strikes next ball! Ben Slater shapes to nudge the ball to fine leg and that's a brilliant diving leg side catch by keeper James Rew.

    Joe Clarke is in next.

  2. Postpublished at 12:21 23 June

    Worcs 47-2 v Surrey

Jamie Smith has taken his time to assess conditions at Visit Worcestershire New Road, but collects his first boundary with four through the covers off Matthew Waite.

His foot wasn't really to the pitch of the ball, but a full swing of the bat made perfect contact and it flew to the rope.

  3. Postpublished at 12:20 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 60-1

Fletcha Middleton gets a hint of an edge driving at Craig Miles but the ball lands safely and rolls through to third man for one.

The fifth ball is elegantly clipped through leg by Nick Gubbins for four.

Good session of play for Hampshire so far.

  4. Postpublished at 12:17 23 June

    Notts 65-1 v Somerset

Migael Pretorius bangs the ball in back of a length to Will Young who leaves it.

The last ball is fuller and pushed into the on side via an inside edge.

Definitely a bit of seam movement there. Maiden over.

Ben Slater gets away with a loose shot off Kasey Aldridge, edging the ball just past leg stump.

Slater picks up a single off a half volley and Young pulls a short ball through mid wicket for four.

  5. 'Hampshire will be pleased with losing just one wicket'published at 12:13 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 53-1

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Hampshire will be pleased they only lost one wicket in the first hour of play despite winning the toss and batting.

There’s been a bit of bounce and movement for the Warwickshire seamers Chris Woakes and Olly Hannon-Dalby.

Woakes bowled well but looks a little short of match practice.

We are so used to pinpoint accuracy from him. A few more overs under his belt coming into this, his 100th first-class game for the county, and Hampshire may have lost another wicket or two by now.

  6. WICKET Borthwick c Pepper b Bosch 5published at 12:13 23 June

    Essex v Durham 83-2

Eathan Bosch has two wickets in his first 20 County Championship balls. Brilliant start from the South African paceman.

A wide one tempts Durham skipper Scott Borthwick into an ill-advised swipe off the top edge of the bat and Essex wicketkeeper Michael Pepper makes a smart low take.

  7. Middleton on the attackpublished at 12:12 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 53-1

Ed Barnard is in the attack and a full ball is driven by Fletcha Middleton and well stopped at extra cover.

He ends the over strongly, beating the outside edge of the bat.

    Maiden over.

Craig Miles is round the wicket to Nick Gubbins who gets a leading edge that lands safely in front of point.

He gets a single off the third ball and Middleton takes Hampshire past 50 in style, slicing a bouncer over deep backward point for six!

  8. Postpublished at 12:10 23 June

    Worcs v Surrey 42-2

Dom Sibley needs little bit of treatment after being struck on the hand by a ball from Adam Finch. Let's hope he'll be ok to carry on.

Finch is in his first over, replacing Ben Allison following an impressive spell of 1-10 from seven.

  9. 'Durham have played Harmer well'published at 12:08 23 June

    Essex v Durham 81-1

    David Brett
    BBC Essex

It's cracking stuff this morning so far.

Eathan Bosch has been very good getting a wicket with his second ever ball for Essex - not a bad start and a vital wicket at that because Michael Jones was in danger of hitting Simon Harmer out of the attack.

I think Durham have played Simon Harmer so well this morning, they've done some damage to his numbers.

  10. Postpublished at 12:08 23 June

    Essex v Durham 82-1

Simon Harmer having a testing morning for Essex - Alex Lees drives him for another four and that's 30 runs off the right-armer's opening four overs.

All in the life of a spinner, as we know. He's done enough damage to batters to know he has to take the odd lump in return.

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 12:07 23 June

Yorkshire pass 50 in the 16th at Scarborough as Finlay Bean turns Beau Webster through square leg for four - Bean is 22 not out.

Northants are 49-2 against Glamorgan in Cardiff as Emilio Gay picks up a single off Harry Podmore and moves to 30 not out.

Runs off the bat are few and far between for Sussex at the moment and they are 49-3 after 14 overs against Leicestershire, with Oli Carter 24 not out.

Two fours in the latest Anuj Dal over for Mark Stoneman and Middlesex are 55-1 after 15 against Derbyshire at Lord's.

  12. Notts pass 50 at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:05 23 June

    Notts 53-1 v Somerset

Not the best start for Kasey Aldridge, who is despatched for successive fours by Will Young.

The first one is driven through cover and the second is flicked to fine leg.

The Notts 50 comes in 15.4 overs.

  13. Postpublished at 12:03 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 46-1

We're down to two slips at Edgbaston as Nick Gubbins stays in the crease and leaves the ball from Craig Miles outside off.

Miles bowls round the wicket but the line is too wide to threaten the outside edge or the stumps.

Gubbins misses out on a full leg side ball and taps his bat in frustration. Maiden over.

  14. Postpublished at 11:59 23 June

    Notts 45-1 v Somerset

Migael Pretorius replaces Craig Overton in the Somerset attack and he starts his spell with a dot ball and a no ball.

Ben Slater opens the face of the bat and guides the next ball away through gully for four.

The line for the rest of the over is tighter and Slater blocks.

Double bowling change here as Kasey Aldridge is marking his run up from the Radcliffe Road End.

  15. 'Worcestershire have worked on their slip catching'published at 11:58 23 June

    Worcs v Surrey 37-2

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Worcestershire's slip catching has been pretty ordinary this season, it is something they've worked at.

  16. WICKET Bell-Drummond lbw b Bailey 4published at 11:58 23 June

    Kent 44-2 v Lancashire

Turnaround in fortunes at Canterbury with a second wicket in quick succession.

Daniel Bell-Drummond lasts just 12 balls as Tom Bailey - who had been targeted by the hosts with his first three overs going for 27 - traps the Kent man plumb lbw.

  17. Postpublished at 11:56 23 June

    Worcs v Surrey 41-2

This is an improvement for Surrey on the game against Worcestershire at The Oval in May when they were 15-4 on the first morning, but they need a partnership to stabilise this innings.

Matthew Waite replaces Tom Taylor after a spell of 1-23 from six overs by the paceman and Dom, Sibley drives his third ball past mid-off for four.

  18. Miles punished by Hampshirepublished at 11:55 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 46-1

Craig Miles is in the Warwickshire attack now.

He starts with too much width and Fletcha Middleton drives through the off side for four runs.

But his next scoring shot is a bit less convincing as he pushes forward and deflects the ball behind square via an inside edge.

Miles switches to bowling round the wicket to the left-handed Nick Gubbins, who drives down the ground for four.

  19. WICKET Jones c Pepper b Bosch 38published at 11:53 23 June

    Essex v Durham 61-1

Eathan Bosch's second delivery in the County Championship yields the breakthrough for Essex.

Just as we were wondering when the South African would enter the attack, skipper Tom Westley brings him on - to devastating effect.

Michael Jones takes a swing, gets a nick and is caught behind by Michael Pepper, for a quickfire 38 off 29 balls.

  20. Division Two updatepublished at 11:52 23 June

Ben Cox catches James ColesImage source, Rex Features

Quite a morning for Ian Holland, who has taken his third wicket for Leicestershire against Sussex by having James Coles caught behind for nine, leaving the home side on 34-3 after 10 overs at Hove.

James Harris is into his sixth over for Glamorgan against Northants, having taken both wickets to fall so far - the visitors are 40-2.

Max Holden clips Anuj Dal away for four and is 19 not out as Middlesex advance to 35-1 after 11 against Derbyshire.

Finlay Bean is almost 'strangled' down the leg-side off Gloucestershire's Zaman Akhter but the ball just eludes the right glove of keeper James Bracey and Yorkshire are 45-0 after 13.
