It is such a shame that Marizanne Kapp is not on the field. Somebody needs to just take the final wicket.

  2. Eng 194-9published at 42 overs

    Target 320

Slapped through the off side for four by Lauren Bell to start the over!

And she ends it by whacking Chloe Tryon down the ground for four more.

  3. Eng 186-9published at 41 overs

    Target 320

Two singles from Nadine de Klerk's over, the second of them getting Lauren Bell off the mark and keeping the number 11 on strike.

This is just a waiting game for South Africa. They are going to have to turn up in the final and play like they have today.

  5. Eng 184-9published at 40 overs

    Target 320

Linsey Smith is still enjoying herself.

She finds the gap between long-on and deep mid-wicket for a boundary to start Chloe Tryon's over and then thumps the ball over extra cover for four more a couple of balls later.

Just another 136 needed from the last 10 overs...

South Africa have ticked all the boxes. Danni Wyatt-Hodge has been starved of the strike in her innings.

England are not going to win this game - it is about showing pride now.

  7. wicket

    Wyatt-Hodge c sub (Sekhukhune) b De Klerk 34 (Eng 175-9)

South Africa are a wicket away from their first 50-over World Cup final.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge flicks the ball to deep backward square and it's a simple catch for the sub fielder, a couple of yards off the boundary cushion.

Lauren Bell is in at number 11 for England.

  8. Eng 173-8published at 38 overs

    Target 320

Linsey Smith heaves the ball into the leg side and Anneke Bosch comes charging in to try and take the catch, she dives forward but doesn't quite get there.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge then gets four with a thick edge down to deep third.

Linsey Smith's score is the first double-figure score by a left-hander in World Cups for England since Lydia Greenway's 71 in 2013.

  10. Eng 167-8published at 37 overs

    Target 320

Ayabonga Khaka continues for now, England take three singles from the over.

It seems the only victory England can cling to now is making South Africa stay out there in the field for a while longer.

It will be interesting to see where Laura Wolvaardt goes here. Will she bring back Marizanne Kapp and get the game done?

Linsey Smith's fun should be over as she hits the ball back at Nonkululeko Mlaba, not particularly quickly, but the bowler can't hold on to the catch.

    On we go...

A lovely shot from Linsey Smith, wide outside the off-stump.

A great shot from the tailender.

Has anyone claimed otherwise, Conor? Marizanne Kapp is one of the world's very best - and has proven as much today.

Meanwhile, Linsey Smith is doing her bit to push her case to become England's new left-handed all-rounder with back-to-back boundaries.

The first is not out of the middle of the bat but gets over mid-on and the next is a lovely, superbly-time shot over wide mid-off that bounces fractionally short of the rope.

Can we just acknowledge how awesome Marizanne Kapp is? Anyone watching the Invincibles the last few years will already be familiar with her awesomeness. Over-talented over-achiever with a big game heart. My favourite current player.

Linsey Smith can bat. She has scored runs domestically. But if she was better than she was, she would be higher in the order.

  17. Eng 155-8published at 35 overs

    Target 320

Linsey Smith gets two with a lovely lofted drive down the ground.

I'm not sure she's the answer to England's lack of left-handers up the order but she has batted nicely early in her innings here.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge might prefer she not keeping taking singles from the last ball of the over and stealing the strike, though.

  18. Eng 152-8published at 34 overs

    Target 320

Linsey Smith, England's solitary left-hander - that's something they could do with addressing, is in at 10.

She clips a single from the last ball to deny Nonkululeko Mlaba a wicket maiden.

It was always just a matter of time for England's lower order. Sophie Ecclestone is someone who likes to go for it so it was inevitable she would get out eventually.

Sophie Ecclestone goes! A good catch from Annerie Dercksen - well judged as it was up in the air for a while.
