Bangladesh captain Nigar Joty, speaking after the loss to South Africa: "Obviously how we started our game in the powerplay wasn't good. We couldn't get much runs.

"We played a lot of dots and this surface against South Africa with what we scored was not enough."

On the future: "From my point of view, a lot of players are very young. Rabeya Khan, how well she bowled in the last four games. Marufa Akter has been doing well and Sobhana Mostary has been playing well.

"There is a lot of positives we can carry forward. The emotion is there and I know in this kind of tournament you have to be mentally strong - there will be many things we will learn."

On the support of Bangladesh fans: "What happened was not in our control, but a lot of people have come here and how they support is incredible - it feels like we're at home. It was amazing to see them."

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt: "It was really good to get the win, the way Kappy and I started with the ball was excellent. We wanted to chase it down quicker, but we got there.

"We didn't exactly know what we needed, I guess now we wait around for the other results, hopefully we have done enough to get to the semi-finals.

"Kappy has been incredible with bat and ball, she has had a great impact with both in every game."

  5. Postpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 12 October

South Africa's net run rate dropped, but they are top of the group and will be wanting England to win both their remaining matches - cricket's a funny old game, isn't it?

It all comes down to the two England performances. England will try to use Scotland to improve their net run-rate.

South Africa have put themselves in the driving seat and they'll be supporting England in the next couple of games.

If England can beat West Indies, South Africa are guaranteed to be through.

Chloe Tryon pushes Rabeya Khan for a single to draw the scores level, then Marizanne Kapp drives past point to see South Africa home.

    Job done.

Bangladesh pulled it together in the second half of their batting innings and they started reasonably well with the ball, but its not been enough.

They've been poor in the field, which has cost them.

  9. SA 105-3published at 17 overs

Chloe Tryon nudges Nahida Akter to leg to keep the strike with just two needed to win.

Marizanne Kapp reduces the runs required to a single hit with a flashing drive through the off side, with a nice flourish of the arms .

  12. SA 96-3published at 16 overs

    Buzzers!

Kapp races in to the keeper's end, and one becomes two as the ball skims back through the off side. There's more arm waving and teapot stances - I fancy there might be some, ahem, frank exchanges of views in the Bangladesh dressing room later.

    Nine from the over.

  13. SA 87-3published at 15 overs

Shorna Akter, bowling her brisk spin while still wearing her cap, concedes just three off her next over as Kapp and Tryon struggle to get the ball past the inner ring of fielders.

Bangladesh are at their most engaged right now - but it's all too late, surely?

  14. 'A great phase for Bangladesh'published at 17:38 British Summer Time 12 October

    Kirstie Gordon
England bowler on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Tazmin Brits played across the line and the ball skids on to leg-stump - Brits has not been able to capitalise.

This is a great phase for Bangladesh. They have two new batters at the crease and it's not an easy pitch for them to start on.

Another great over from Bangladesh and they're putting some pressure on South Africa.

It is probably good pressure for South Africa to undergo in the tournament.

  15. SA 84-3published at 14 overs

Marizanne Kapp and Chloe Tryon have a mid-pitch conflab after nurdling Ritu Moni for three more after the wicket.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.2 overs

    Brits b Ritu Moni 41 (81-3)

Tazmin Brits plays all around a straight one from Ritu Moni and trudges off.

These wickets won't be helping the net run rate for South Africa.

  17. SA 79-2published at 13 overs

New batter Marizanne Kapp was all business with the ball earlier on, can she finish off the job with the bat?

  18. 'Khatun has bowled well'published at 17:30 British Summer Time 12 October

    Kirstie Gordon
England bowler on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Another wicket for Fahima Khatun. She has bowled well tonight.

The first time Anneke Bosch has got hold of the reverse sweep. South Africa can afford to lose another wicket and it's important that they keep improving their net run-rate.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12 overs

Bosch c Nahida Akter b Fahima Khatun 25 (SA 76-2)

Anneke Bosch reverse-sweeps but the ball flies straight to Nahida Akter at backwards point. It's taken cleanly, but the fielder barely celebrates and chucks the ball away, showing off the frustration of those earlier drops.
