Harry Brook came out with his customary aggression but took on spinner Prabath Jayasuriya one too many times, picking out Nishan Madushka - who had dropped Brook earlier when on nine - at deep mid-wicket to depart for 37.

A lot of focus has been on Ollie Pope and the stand-in skipper was out cheaply again, upper-cutting the ball to Prabath Jayasuriya at deep point to depart for 17.

Let's have a look back at the morning session.

England began on 25-1 but lost Ben Duckett with the addition of just 11 runs, though the England opener was perhaps a little unlucky to be caught on the rebound after the initial catch was dropped.

    Thanks, Ffion.

A spell in the live text driving seat is just what I need to drag me away from my futile attempts to get an Oasis ticket.

To those who have been successful, enjoy the ticket. I hope it makes you very happy.

As the players tuck into a tasty Lord's lunch, and Stephan goes for another curry, I'm also going to take a break.

Here's Tom Mallows to guide you through the interval and the afternoon session.

Joe Root will definitely be eyeing up a hundred. He is very, very greedy.

I guarantee that will be the only thing he is thinking about at lunch.

Jayasuriya whizzes through his over and England end the session in an extremely strong position.

Three wickets were lost but the run-rate has been good, with Joe Root unbeaten on 45 and Jamie Smith has 23.

A spirited effort from Sri Lanka - minus the dropped catch of Harry Brook they didn't do a lot wrong, but unfortunately have paid the price for their batting efforts yesterday.

    England lead by 390.

There's chickpea curry in the press box for lunch. I could be looking at five in four days.

The clock ticks past one, but we're going to squeeze in one more over from the spinner.

Lahiru Kumara's pace had dropped significantly today.

I don't think bowling short to Jamie Smith is a good idea.

He whacks another one to the ropes in a flash.

Here's how Sri Lanka got rid of Harry Brook (at the second attempt).

    Pummelled.

    Jamie Smith gets one away!

The spinner offers a long-hop and he gratefully thumps it between mid-wicket and long-on for four.

The runs have dried up a bit since Harry Brook got out, and as we approach the break. Perhaps the declaration can wait a little longer.

This helmet, which was broken in 1996, links two men involved in this Test match. It was worn by Sanath Jayasuriya, who is now the head coach of the Sri Lanka team, and was broken by a bouncer from Australia's Paul Reiffel, who is one of the umpires today.

Just three runs ticked off a tidy Jayasuriya over, as we approach the lunch break.

Sri Lanka keep toiling away without much luck. The pitch is still playing pretty well for the batters.

England have been proactive and they'll just keep batting the same way.

    No Harry Brook, no problem.

Jamie Smith clips one down to fine leg for four, before chipping another down the ground for three.

There is no reason why England have to declare today. There is enough time to bowl Sri Lanka out.
