He's on a hat-trick! Sri Lanka are completely imploding.

    Samarawickrama b Maharaj 0 (SL 32-4)

Beauty! Two in two for Keshav Maharaj!

Round the wicket to Sadeera Samarawickrama, fired in a little quicker and it skids through to hit off stump.

    He's on a hat-trick...

Well, that's clearly a shot of frustration from the captain. He's come charging down the pitch to his second ball, but he was nowhere near it.

Things are going from bad to worse.

Hasaranga st De Kock b Maharaj 0 (SL 32-3)

    Oh dear.

Wanindu Hasaranga promoted himself to four but is gone second ball.

He charges down the track to Keshav Maharaj, has an almighty swing and gets nowhere neat the ball.

Not the cleanest take by Quinton de Kock but he completes the stumping.

  5. SL 31-2published at 8 overs

Another good over for South Africa as captain Wanindu Hasaranga comes in at four for Sri Lanka.

The skipper joins Kusal Mendis, who has really struggled so far. Lots of big swings, no connections of note.

Sri Lanka's innings is stuttering, the spark plugs never came on.

But they haven't tried any other approach, it's been swinging for the big shots and that's it. There's been no adaptability, no plan B.

None of the batters have been able to time the ball which suggests the pitch is playing a part, but it's the way they haven't adapted to that.

  7. wicket

    Kamindu c Hendricks b Nortje 11 (SL 31-2)

Holed out to deep backward square!

A bit fuller from Anrich Nortje and on the pads so Kamindu Mendis decides to take on the long square boundaries.

He was about 15 yards short and Reeza Hendricks tales a straight forward catch.

I'm not quite sure what's going on. South Africa have bowled brilliantly but is it just that? Or is the pitch bamboozling Sri Lanka?

  9. SL 30-1published at 7.2 overs

From spin to outright pace. Anrich Nortje wastes no time in showing what he is all about.

Two short balls that fly past Kusal Mendis just below head height.

Just been for a wander round the back of the temporary stands here at the at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

They have been brought down from Las Vegas where they were used for the F1 Grand Prix.

    It's quite an imposing sight.

  11. SL 30-1published at 7 overs

The Sri Lanka batters look a bit more comfortable against the spin of Keshav Maharaj but it is still the bowler on top.

Another boundary-free over and just six runs from it.

I love South Africa's bowling attack, they've got everything. Jansen has got the height, Rabada the pace and Baartman is a bit skiddier.

And Maharaj is just one of the most consistent spinners around.

Time for spin now as Keshav Maharaj comes into the attack...

This guy has very quickly become one of my favourite bowlers!

He's not exactly rapid but he's just nipping it around, lots of energy as well.

  15. SL 24-1published at 6 overs

Ottneil Baartman nips the fifth ball of the over back to hit the back leg, drawing an appeal.

    Just too high, though.

Kusal Mendis finally manages to break free last ball, skipping down and hitting - not entirely convincingly - over the off side for two.

Powerplay over, South Africa on top.

There's a slip still in place in the sixth over of a T20, it's extraordinary.

Sri Lanka's batters just can't get bat on ball against the South African seamers at the moment.

  18. SL 21-1published at 5.4 overs

Four balls into his second over and Ottneil Baartman must be thinking that World Cup cricket is easy.

He took a wicket with his first ball, didn't concede a run off the bat in his first over and he's gone past the outside edge three times already in his second.

  19. SL 21-1published at 5 overs

A much-needed boundary for Sri Lanka as Kamindu Mendis whips the ball over square leg - one bounce for four.

It comes after Kagiso Rabada, back after a change of ends, had beaten the left-hander earlier in the over.

All signs so far point to this being a very tricky surface to bat on.

A lovely start from Baartman, he has looked completely in control and is getting some really nice shape.
