Have they dipped this cricket ball in olive oil?

  2. dropped catch

Gaze dropped on fourpublished at 19.3 overs

What on earth is going on?!

It's a carbon copy - Izzy Gaze is put down at long-off by Fatima Sana off Nida Dar!

That's seven dropped catches now, and I'd say that only one was difficult.

I have been a little concerned about Pakistan's fielding throughout the tournament. We've seen the dropped catches and tonight, there's been some misfields - often times two fielders closing in on the ball and one not quite sure what the other is going to do.

  4. dropped catch

Green dropped on twopublished at 19.1 overs

    NZ 104-5

Drop number six, and second one off Nida Dar's bowling.

Fatima Sana has held on to three, but spills this one at long-off as Maddy Green gets a reprieve.

  5. NZ 101-5published at 19 overs

Good running from Maddy Green and Izzy Gaze sees them scamper two from the last ball of the penultimate over, and they now have one more to score as many as possible from and to see if they can earn themselves a semi-final spot.

That is a big, big wicket for Pakistan and it is once again Fatima Sana who could just do no wrong today. I think a lot of players can learn from the way she gets under the ball and trusts herself with the fingers facing up.

    Devine c Sana b Iqbal 19 (NZ 96-5)

    Huge!

Finally, a catch is held at long-off as Pakistan's captain Fatima Sana makes no mistake. Sophie Devine tries to launch the ball out of the ground but once again, is deceived by the lack of pace.

New Zealand have got to push for at least 110 from here.

New Zealand would've hoped Brooke Halliday could be there at the end. She can be a destructive finisher.

  9. wicket

Halliday st Muneeba b Nashra 22 (NZ 96-4)

And Omaima Sohail breathes a sigh of relief!

Brooke Halliday goes for an almighty swipe, but completely misses Nashra Sandhu's 37mph delivery and Muneeba Ali whips off the bails.

Yes, you read that correctly - it was 37mph. But it does the job for Pakistan!

Omaima Sohail didn't get herself to a good position at all. The ball was far out of her reach.

  11. dropped catch

Halliday dropped on 17published at 17.2 overs

    NZ 91-3

    Dropped catch number five.

Omaima Sohail puts down another chance at long-off as Brooke Halliday this time miscues one down the ground. There's no pace on the ball so as much as Pakistan are at fault for constantly dropping them, the batters need to realise that it's clearly not a very smart option.

That's really good running from New Zealand. They've changed their gears from the 15th over onwards. They'll hope they haven't left it too late.

  13. NZ 89-3published at 17 overs

A frantic over from Devine and Halliday, realising that time is not on their side. Again, they owe Pakistan's sloppy fielding as a couple of run out chances go begging, before Halliday flashes wide of off stump and gets lucky with an edge from which they run three.

That's dropped and flung into the ground in fury. It really could make the difference - for New Zealand, for Pakistan and for India.

  15. dropped catch

Devine dropped on 13published at 16 overs

    NZ 82-3

This is the worst drop of the lot.

Sophie Devine drops her head the second she hits it, knowing it's been chipped straight to Sidra Ameen at long-off. But she survives, with the simplest of chances going down and the bowler Nida Dar cannot hide her disappointment with her head in her hands.

That's a shocker and now Devine has been given a boost with four crucial overs to go.

Pakistan were rewarded for a very disciplined spell of bowling after the powerplay, with Melie Kerr unable to get going as she fell for a frustrating nine from 17 balls.

Brooke Halliday placed that really well. She knew where the field was and got that nice and fine. It's a really good over for New Zealand.

  18. NZ 75-3published at 15 overs

    And again!

At last, New Zealand hit the accelerator and try to do something different as opposed to just blocking it back to the bowler. Brooke Halliday reverse-sweeps for her second boundary of the over.

    More of this, please.

Brooke Halliday thumps Syeda Aroob's first ball through mid-wicket for four.

  20. NZ 67-3published at 14 overs

New Zealand keep ticking along but they don't seem in a hurry. Sophie Devine knows how important she is to her team, so she's trying to make sure she's there at the end but seems uncertain about whether to stick or twist at the moment.
