    Good length from Gus Atkinson with a hint of swing, drawing a drive from Kusal Mendis who edges behind to Jamie Smith. He can do no wrong, taking a smart catch low to the ground.

    This could unravel rather quickly.

    It's a horror start from Sri Lanka. Their morning session goes from bad to worse as Nishan Madushka leaves one alone, but it nips back and takes his off stump.

    That's a long walk back, just three balls into the innings.

    That's got to be up there with the best we've seen.

  11. A tricky 15 minutes for Sri Lanka to bat before lunch, now. They slipped to 6-3 in the first innings so they'll need a much better showing from their top order this time around.

    England's lead of 122 is mainly down to Jamie Smith's eye-catching 111, with supporting cameos from Joe Root (42), Harry Brook (56) and Mark Wood's entertaining 22 from 13 balls.

    Matty Potts is off the field already, as is Bashir. Pads off, they'll be ready to get back out there. I don't think he'll be too disappointed, they've got England to a 120-run lead. Sri Lanka had the opportunity to put some pressure on England and they've absorbed that really nicely.

    Four and out! England are dismissed for 358, a valuable first-innings lead of 122.

    Unhappy with the previous boundary, Vishwa Fernando tempts Matthew Potts with the short ball and he obliges, skewing the ball high in the air for Kamindu Mendis to take a smart catch diving forward.

    A poor morning for Sri Lanka, who needed those four wickets much sooner than that, but a very positive one for England.

    A quieter over, starting with Matthew Potts trying to ramp the first ball over the keeper but missing, and reining in his instincts for the remainder.

    A reminder that this morning's session will go on until 13:15 BST, to make up for the overs lost by rain yesterday.

  16. Dinesh Chandimal has had a decent time behind the stumps, at least. He took a cracker to get rid of Jamie Smith earlier.

    The game was well-balanced at the start of the day but it's been all England since then, through a combination of Jamie Smith's brilliance and Sri Lanka's lacklustre approach.

    They continue with the sloppiness, too. Bashir drives nicely through the covers to get off the mark, and is gifted a bonus third run because of an overthrow.

    Steps outside leg stump, almost like a white ball shot, trying to score in the off side. Fernando fires one in, full, straight and it clatters the middle stump. Mark Wood has done his job, and you could see Fernando's frustration as soon as he took the wicket.

    Ah! Mark Wood's fun comes to an end.

    He gives himself some room, but it's too full and straight from Asitha Fernando, who splatters the stumps.

    Wood shakes his head in frustration but that's a very useful cameo of 22 from 13 balls.

    Lovely shot from Matthew Potts. So still when he hits the ball, no foot movement but he doesn't really need to when the ball is so full. That's going to make a lovely photo.
