I've already seen a man dressed in an inflatable pig costume, flanked by butchers. The sun is out. It feels like business has picked up.

    Let's get going, then!

Sri Lanka bowled very well yesterday and their job this morning is pretty simple. But, they don't play many Tests so I suspect there are some tired, aching bodies out there.

Even more incentive for early wickets.

Jamie Smith is on strike to spinner Prabath Jayasuriya.

    Jamie Smith holds the key.

He's unbeaten on 72 and has looked completely at home in Test cricket. But he's batting with the tail, so Sri Lanka should be confident of mopping things up quickly.

If Smith keeps going, though, and England push on to a lead of 100 or so, they'll be in a commanding position.

    Russel Arnold
Ex-Sri Lanka all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

Sri Lanka need to come out positive in every sense knowing that they are still in the game. They haven't been blown out of it and the key to this Test match is to take it deep and push through today. They need those early wickets.

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

Harry Brook said he was frustrated that he didn't go on yesterday but Jamie Smith has been outstanding. When Brook got out, he managed to slow it down and weather that storm, his ability to go through the gears with ease is impressive and he's an incredible young player.

The weather hasn't been great at Old Trafford this week, with plenty of rain delays and bad light disruptions.

We could be in for a little more of the same today but, hopefully, we should get closer to a full day's play (although, by all accounts, it is very windy).

    Good morning!

Welcome to day three, otherwise known as moving day. England are in a decent position with a lead of 23 runs and four wickets remaining, but if Sri Lanka have a good morning, plenty could change.

It's interestingly poised, so stay with us as we build up to the first ball of the day in half an hour's time.
