Back of the length delivery is so hard to play and Bangladesh have hit that well today.

  2. SA 19-2published at 3 overs

Tristan Stubbs walks to the middle with his side in trouble early doors - the 23-year-old must already be familiar with this situation.

He fends off the remaining three balls of the over without scoring.

I'm sat in among the Bangladesh fans who are providing plenty of colour and noise in the stands.

They went absolutely delirious when Tanzim Hasan Sakib captured the wicket of Quinton de Kock just then.

What a huge wicket that is for Bangladesh.

There's an uneven bounce and there's always going to be that lateral movement.

    De Kock b Tanzim 18 (SA 19-2)

    Massive wicket!

Tanzim rushes in from round the wicket and delivers a ball that keeps a little low. De Kock tries to play across the line, but the ball flies under the bat and crashes into the stumps.

The opener, who's scored all of South Africa's runs off the bat in this innings, has to go.

Bangladesh are a decent team. In the last World Cup in Australia they were going to beat India. They can be absolutely unbeatable on occasion when they play to their potential.

  7. SA 18-1published at 2 overs

Just a single from the remainder of the over, as De Kock takes a single then Taskin sends down three dots to Aiden Markram.

The sound coming off the bat really is more like it, as you say.

Quinton de Kock is on fire.

    SA 17-1published at 1.2 overs

De Kock goes over square again!

This time it's Taskin Ahmed that gets the treatment - it's not quite as big as the six from the previous over, but still a mighty blow.

There's absolutely no way you'd even think of reviewing that.

    Hendricks lbw b Tanzim 0 (SA 11-1)

It's another early departure for Reeza Hendricks though - he goes first ball!

He comes onto the final delivery of Tanzim's over, the ball just straightens a little and strikes the opener on the back leg right in front - extremely plumb, no review necessary.

Here comes captain Aiden Markram, who went for three-ball duck against the Netherlands.

  12. SA 10-0published at 0.3 overs

De Kock picks up four more, clubbing away through mid-wicket.

It was full, 85 metres and is probably one of the biggest sixes we've seen on this ground.

What a magnificent blow that is. Terrific shot back into the stands.

  15. 6 runs

    SA 6-0published at 0.2 overs

And that's what happens when De Kock actually gets to bat?

He lofts Tanzim high and long over square for an early six - he timed that beautifully.

  16. SA 0-0published at 0.1 overs

De Kock at least faces a ball this time as he's taken strike.

He blocks out Tanzim Hasan's opening delivery.

If any team could get a big score on this pitch, it's going to be South Africa.

South Africa openers Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock have made their way out into the middle - they scored 3 and 0 respectively against the Netherlands on Saturday, with De Kock run out before he'd even faced a ball.

    Time to get going.

The teams are on their way out for the anthems.

While we wait for the match to begin, why not enjoy the highlights from India v Pakistan at this ground yesterday?
