I'm really impressed with Pratika Rawal. She's not fazed at all.

The shots Rawal has played, I have been really impressed.

Smriti Mandhana is ticking along nicely at the other end.

Four dot balls follow, before the opener takes two more into mid-wicket from another delivery that's strayed too straight.

Pratika Rawal has excelled so far in her ODI career, averaging 65 from her 12 games. She has however struggled far more against spin bowlers than pace:

    • v Pace: 2 wkts - Avg 174.00
    • v Spin: 8 wkts - Avg 37.50

She looks very comfortable out there, Pratika Rawal. I've not seen any attacking intent, but she looks solid as a rock.

  8. Ind 28-0published at 5 overs

Nicely done - Pratika Rawal guides Kate Cross' first ball between fielders at backward point and cover to find the ropes.

Rawal made her India debut last last year and averages 63.80 from 11 ODIs prior to today - played against Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland and South Africa.

She is yet to play a T20 international.

India have not batted well. There has been poor deliveries that have been hit to the boundary.

I would love to see Lauren Filer in the attack. Any time Lauren Filer is in the starting 11, I am thinking, 'here we go'.

    First fours of the innings!

Lauren Bell sends down a nasty half-tracker to start her own and Smriti Mandhana swats it away through square.

Three balls later a full ball on the pads is clipped through a similar area.

Expecting some thumbs down but I don’t mind. I, for one, am happy to see the back of the men's Tests for a week or so. Three ODIs in between that can definitely match Monday evening’s thrills!

Four runs off Kate Cross' second over, with Smriti Mandhana picking up two past backward point.

Mandhana started the T20 series with a score of 112 - I'm sure she'd happily take a similar score as we start the tour's ODI leg.

I think WinViz is suffering from heat stroke. India favourites, surely, especially if Mandhana gets going.

Bravo, Sophia Dunkley. She has taken a lot of stick on various BBC 'have your says' over the years, but England have been wise to stick by her.
