The powerplay will be so important. If India get going without losing more than one wicket in that phase it will mean they're miles ahead.

Sopha Dunkley has done well, and it's almost a shame she's not finished not out.

More importantly, what Charlotte Edwards wants from this side is players that can rebuild.

They were four down and that fightback in the middle was smart, and they took their time.

England finish strong after twice having to rebuild following the loss of two quick wickets earlier in the innings.

Sophia Dunkley and Alice Davidson-Richards shared the crucial partnership for the fifth wicket, worth 106 in the end, to take the hosts to a competitive total.

India will still fancy their chances of chasing it down but might be a little disappointed not to have restricted England further, having had them 97-4.

    Bowled 'er!

Sophia Dunkley falls to the last ball of the innings for a magnificent 83.

She backed away, trying to hit over the off side again but she misses and Amanjot Kaur hits.

That was a nasty blow for Sophia Dunkley.

    That was a complete mistake.

  9. ouch!

    Eng 258-5published at 49.5 overs

Ouch, that is a very painful one for Sophia Dunkley.

She hits the ball high into the on-side, it lands safely and England come back for two.

It is close and the throw comes in from the deep but it's off target and clocks Dunkley on the helmet, almost knocking her over into her crease.

A quick check from the physio and she's OK. One ball to go.

No need to be shy, Bryan...

And it won't be under 250, England are moving towards 260 now.

Sophia Dunkley adds another boundary, hitting up and over the off-side. No fielders back on that side of the wicket so it's four all the way.

Bryan Robson: No, I am not that Bryan Robson, but he is my favourite Manchester United player. Back to the cricket, anything under 250 will be easy pickings for India.

Sophie Ecclestone has got the long levers.

If Ecclestone keeps working on the batting then she could be an excellent finisher.

  13. Eng 249-5published at 49.1 overs

    Sophie Ecclestone keeps going!

A couple of steps down and slaps the ball just over mid-off for four.

Five balls left in the innings...

  14. Eng 245-5published at 49 overs

    Four more!

Sophie Ecclestone gets England ever closer to 250 as she flicks a ball off her pads, past short fine leg and away to the boundary.

    England are finishing strong.

So good. That's one of the hardest shots in the book, from in to out. Sophia Dunkley got low and really extended the hands.

  16. Eng 239-5published at 48.3 overs

    Glorious shot!

Sophia Dunkley skips down the track and then middles a lofted drive, inside-out over extra cover for four.

The England right-hander is playing a great hand for her side.

Yep, always missing leg and so Sophia Dunkley continues.

Deepti Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur clearly thought it was worth a go.

  18. India reviewpublished at 48.1 overs

    Eng 234-5

Sophia Dunkley misses with a reverse sweep and India call for a review.

Looks very optimistic. It seemed to be going well down leg.

  19. Eng 233-5published at 48 overs

Good start to the over for England but Shree Charani comes back well.

Just three from the next four balls - and two are them are from an inside edge from Sophie Ecclestone that just misses the stumps and runs down towards fine leg.

Really nice foot movement. Sophia Dunkley is looking for those gaps and finding that angle.

England need to get as close to that 250 mark as possible.
