Excellent start from Jason Behrendorff with three dot balls. He gets the nod from the captain for his second over.

The Invincibles know how to win this tournament. They have much of the same team and are so consistent.

  2. Spirit 2-0published at 5 balls

Said left-armer Jason Behrendorff opens the bowling for Oval Invincibles and starts with three dot balls to Keaton Jennings.

The former England man ramps the fourth ball but doesn't get all of it and has to settle for two.

Another dot ends the five-ball set and so it's no surprise that Sam Billings asks Behrendorff to bowl five more...

Oval Invincibles captain Sam Billings: "We weren't really sure what to do. I wasn't too fussed. Hopefully we will get some early wickets and put some pressure on."

On what it is like as defending champions: "Like any year, there is always pressure. We know a decent formula and we are looking forward to another opportunity. All the teams looks strong. We have kept most of the guys together which is great."

On what makes this team so successful: "Consistency. Keeping the core side together. The two Curran brothers help to balance out any side, two brilliant all-rounders. That's great to have as a captain. The oversees also add to fill the gaps. We are really looking forward to it."

Sales of stakes in six of the eight teams to private investors have now been confirmed, while deals for Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets "remain on track", so it could be all change next year...
