Summary

  1. dropped catch

Shepherd dropped on 25published at 13 overs

    WI 94-5

    OK, this is probably harsh.

Rehan Ahmed has probably saved a boundary as opposed to dropping a catch, as Romario Shepherd absolutely nails it back to him in his follow-through.

It ricochets off Ahmed's hand as he's only able to get one palm on it, that's how ferociously it was struck.

  2. 6 runs

    WI 93-5published at 12.2 overs

Rovman Powell maintains his aggression to Rehan Ahmed, slamming the ball straight down the ground for six more.

    Pressure on the young leg-spinner.

  3. WI 86-5published at 12 overs

    Oh, careful.

Jamie Overton slides on the boundary, but his knee gets stuck in the soggy turf. He's fine, but gives a smile as if to say, "Got away with one there".

Great over from Curran, just three singles from it.

Sam Curran has played in 15 different series and tournaments in his T20I career, but this is the first series in which he's not bowled inside the powerplay - a clear switch in role.

  5. WI 84-5published at 11.3 overs

Sam Curran starts his spell nicely, just one run conceded from his first three balls with his clever variations of pace.

  6. Not outpublished at 11 overs

An inside edge rescues the skipper!

It's curious that he took so long to review that after a blatant nick.

  7. WI reviewpublished at 11 overs

A reluctant review from Rovman Powell after he is given out lbw to Overton.

He looks rather guilty. If there's no bat involved, this is plumb.

  8. WI 81-5published at 10.2 overs

    Shot!

Rovman Powell is teaching his top order a lesson here. The West Indies skipper slaps one through the covers for four as Jamie Overton offers too much width.

It felt like West Indies knew that this is a belter of a wicket, and therefore they went overly aggressive in the powerplay because they knew they'd need to score a whole heap of runs to challenge England.

  10. WI 77-5published at 10.1 overs

    Cheers, Sam.

Five wickets in the powerplay was hardly the ideal start for the Windies but this partnership between Rovman Powell and Romario Shephered has just started to breathe some life into the innings.

On such a good pitch, these two are probably going to have to bat the next 10 overs to give their side a chance.

  11. WI 76-5published at 10 overs

Width from Liam Livingstone and Rovman Powell crunches the ball sumptuously through extra cover for four.

Signs of life from the West Indies, somewhat belatedly, but England well on top as the players take drinks.

We'll use this opportunity to make a change of our own. Here's Ffion Wynne to take you through the remainder of the game.

  12. 6 runs

    WI 69-5published at 9.2 overs

    Six more!

Romario Shepherd takes on Liam Livingstone to the long boundary, hitting into the wind as well.

But his power is such that he still just about clears Jacob Bethell at deep mid-wicket.

West Indies are starting to move...

  13. 6 runs

    WI 62-5published at 9 overs

    Huge hit from Rovman Powell!

In the slot from Rehan Ahmed and the West Indies skipper was not going to miss out, launching the ball high over long on for six.

  14. WI 54-5published at 8.1 overs

Too full from Rehan Ahmed and Romario Shepherd hammers the ball back over his head for four.

Brutal from the West Indies all-rounder.

  15. WI 50-5published at 8 overs

Jamie Overton into the attack and it's a good over from the big seamer.

Just four from it, all in singles but the last of them will frustrate him somewhat as he allowed the ball to bounce through his own hands.

Still good stuff from England, keeping the pressure up after the powerplay.

Just like in Barbados, England's fielders are very tentative on that outfield. The ball is slowing up meaning they don’t have to be too adventurous.

Saqib Mahmood now has eight powerplay wickets in this series, which is the most by a bowler in any T20 bilateral series... with two games still to play.

  18. WI 46-5published at 7 overs

No Adil Rashid for England tonight but the plan remains the same - wrist spin in the first over after the powerplay, with Rehan Ahmed on to bowl.

Steady enough start, seven from the over as Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd try to rebuild for West Indies.

Jofra Archer had never bowled three overs in the powerplay in a T20I match coming into this series - he's now done it in back-to-back games, aggressive captaincy from Jos Buttler.

  20. WI 39-5published at 6 overs

Powerplay over and England are in complete control.

Three more wickets for Saqib Mahmood. What a series he's having.

The Lancashire seamer has certainly done something about England's struggles taking wickets with the new ball.
