England will be full of confidence and rightly so but West Indies are such a quality side. They have got so much power and class.

Jos Buttler will not be taking it lightly. They will have to adapt to the conditions quickly at a different venue and with the weather that has been around.

A whole lot of sand has just been dumped on the troublesome area of the outfield with groundstaff hurriedly sweeping it across trying to get things ready for the start of this match.

It doesn't look brilliant but if it does the trick and makes it safe to field on then that doesn't really matter, does it?

Anyway, the players have now made their way onto the field for the anthems.

West Indies captain Rovman Powell: "Definitely [starting better with the bat is] something we’ve talked about. Today is an opportunity to change that."

On taking wickets in the middle overs: "It’s about clarity. If you come out of the powerplay 70-1 or 70-0 like England did, the middle overs are always going to be difficult as they can come hard at us.

"It’s about us trying to start better, control the powerplay and the middle overs take care of themselves."

On changes to the XI: "We have a lot of injury in our group. Shai Hope comes in for Brandon King, who is feeling a niggle.

"Alzarri Joseph is back for Matthew Forde, who is also injured. And Shimron Hetmyer comes back in for Sherfane Rutherford."

On Alzarri Joseph: "He's been the leader of our attack since I came in. He's a vital part of our unit so hopefully he can help us to control the powerplay and get those breakthroughs we need."

England captain Jos Buttler: "We're going to bowl first - again! Chasing has been pretty good so far and there's some weather around as well.

"It's a great wicket here with a bit of pace. We'll be right on it, we are expecting West Indies to fight back so we've got to start afresh.

"Rehan Ahmed comes in for Adil Rashid today."

For the third match running, Jos Buttler calls correctly at the toss and England will bowl first.

One change for the tourists, Rehan Ahmed comes in for Adil Rashid. Interesting.

Liam Livingstone has matured so much as a cricketer. He struggled for a couple of years when he was playing so often, and batting at five or six when his role was really to try and hit every ball out of the ground.

That can be really difficult because it's hard for that to come off every single time.

He has taken on the responsibility and adapted his game a lot more, which has made him far more consistent.

Almost time for that toss now. Will England stick with a winning formula given they've had a few days off since that second T20 in Barbados?

  10. Play to start at 20:45 GMTpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

    Good news!

Official word has come down the line and the toss will take place in a little under 10 minutes time at 20:30 GMT with play starting at 20:45 GMT.

That's a delay of 45 minutes all told but it doesn't sound like any overs have been lost.

  11. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

Word from the ground is that England are warming up so that's got to be good news.

Hopefully the toss isn't too far away now.

  12. Postpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

Better news from St Lucia where the covers are off but we're still waiting for an update on the toss and start time.

Plenty of poking and prodding at the outfield, though.

I thought Jos Buttler would go back to opening but he is such an extraordinary white-ball batter, he could bat anywhere.

He generates so much power and he can score 360 as we've seen for a number of years now.

The following night Jos Buttler smashed a blistering 83 from 45 balls as England cruised to a seven-wicket win over West Indies in the second T20.

The England captain came in after Phil Salt was dismissed from the first ball of the tourists' chase and proceeded to hit eight fours and six sixes in a stunning knock.

Buttler dominated a 129-run stand with opener Will Jacks before the pair fell in the same Romario Shepherd over.

However, the damage had been done and the visitors went on to overhaul West Indies' 158-8 with 31 balls to spare.

  15. Salt century fires England to victory in first T20published at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

Phil Salt powered a superb century to take England to a commanding eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the first T20 in Barbados.

After a disappointing defeat in the one-day international series, Salt struck an unbeaten 103 off 54 balls on the island he used to call home as England cruised to a pursuit of 183.

It was the opener's third T20 hundred for England - all three of which have come against West Indies in the past 12 months.

Jacob Bethell, another with Bajan roots, finished unbeaten on 58 from 36 balls alongside Salt, in the process becoming the youngest man to hit a T20 fifty for England, aged 21.

West Indies made their imposing total in remarkable fashion, reaching 183-9 despite falling to 18-3 and 117-8.

While we wait for more positive news, let's have a quick look back at the first two games of the series...

  17. rain stops play

Here comes the rainpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

News from the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground... it's raining.

Settle in, folks, it could be one of those nights.

  18. Inspection under waypublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

The latest from St Lucia is that a pitch inspection is currently taking place so hopefully we will have news from that soon.

A revised toss and start time in the next few minutes would be nice...

  19. Topley out for rest of T20 seriespublished at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

England have confirmed that left-arm seamer Reece Topley has been ruled out of the remainder of this T20 series with a knee injury.

Topley sustained the injury in the series opener and, after further assessment, the decision has been made for him to fly home early from the tour.

  20. Toss delayedpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November

The bad news is that the toss has delayed as a result of wet spots on the outfield caused by overnight rain.

The last we heard was that it would take place at 19:45 GMT but so far, no toss.

Fingers crossed, the captains can get out there shortly and get this match under way but, for now, the covers remain on.
