A great game to end a very enjoyable series!

As we have said England won the ODIs 2-1 but the T20s are shared 1-1. A superstar in the making called Orla Prendergast has made her name too.

You can read Tom Mallows' report on today's game here.

England's next cricket is the T20 World Cup, when their full first-choice squad will be back in action.

Their first match is on 5 October in the UAE. We will, as ever, be here to cover that.

  2. 'Orla showed why she is world class'published at 18:09 British Summer Time 15 September

Ireland captain Gaby Lewis speaking to TNT Sports: "I am so proud of the girls, it shows the maturity of Orla with that innings, she is such a world-class player and she showed that today. We play Bangladesh in November, we look forward to that and although Orla will be in the Big Bash we will wish her well with that."

  3. 'We wanted to show how good we are'published at 18:04 British Summer Time 15 September

Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast: "I knew if I got myself in and got a start I would convert and accelerate towards the back end.

"We weren't too serious [during partnership with Leah Paul]. Myself and Leah's friendship is jokey. We tried to have fun. We knew we needed to take the game on and run well.

"It was our last game of the summer. We knew how well we have played. To put in a really good performance to finish to show how good a side we are was what motivated us today.

"Form is precious and I just try to make the most of it when I feel good."

  4. 'Brilliant game of cricket'published at 18:00 British Summer Time 15 September

England captain Kate Cross speaking to TNT Sports: "It was brilliant game of cricket, Orla batted brilliantly to keep them in the game and to win it eventually. It was an unfortunate incident at the end but I thought Mady did brilliantly to keep us in it, seven off the last over on a good pitch but pressure does funny things to people.

"We have come over with an inexperienced team and I am hugely excited about the performances over the last couple of days. Hopefully there have been a lot of learnings, tight games like that you tend to learn a lot from."

On the captaincy: "I don't think Heather (Knight) is giving it up any time soon, but I have really enjoyed it if there was another occasion I would not say no."

Orla Prendergast is named player of the match and player of the series. She took 2-31 before that match-winning 80 from 51 balls.

The 22-year-old speaks like an experienced pro too.

"Pressure does funny things to people," says England skipper Kate Cross.

Looking back Mady Villiers probably had time to run and take the stumps without having to throw.

Cross adds that Villiers did well to keep England in it before that.

This was the final match of the tour.

This youthful England side won the ODI series 2-1 but the T20s are shared 1-1.

I reckon Ireland will see beating England in both formats as a big success.

Ireland have won it with a ball to spare.

It's their first victory against England in women's T20s at the fourth attempt.

It's their highest successful chase in T20s too.

Orla Prendergast was absolutely phenomenal today. Christina Coulter-Reilly, the main thing was that she made contact! And she gets to hit the winning runs on her home ground.

    Remarkable.

Christina Coulter-Reilly hits it back to bowler Mady Villiers and the Ireland pair still set off for a single.

From eight or nine paces, Villiers has all three stumps to aim at but misses and Ireland scamper the second run to secure victory via an overthrow!

Just one to start. Good fielding from Tammy Beaumont.

Mady Villiers will bowl the final over. Ireland need seven from it to win.
