  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.2 overs

    Armitage b Prendergast 0 (Eng 137-5)

A sight all bowlers love to see - a stump flying out of the ground, as Holly Armitage gets a pull shot all wrong and sees her off stick go tumbling.

  2. Eng 137-5published at 15:57 British Summer Time 15 September

Prendergast is patched up and takes the bowl for the 17th over, and off the first we see that T20 rarity - a three as Georgia Adams swipes to third.

  3. Eng 134-4published at 16 overs

Orla Prendergast is having some treatment for a cut on her hand sustained while diving along the turf.

Four overs to go - England will do well to get to the 176 they posted yesterday from here.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16 overs

    Scholfield c Canning b A Maguire 34 (Eng 134-4)

That's another superb catch from Ava Canning!

Paige Scholfield goes aerial into the off side but it only goes as far as mid-off, Canning still has to race to her right and then takes a fine grab diving to her right.

Ireland have been really on it today in the field.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.2 overs

    Beaumont c Coulter-Reilly b Kelly 40 (Eng 123-3)

The opener lifts Arlene Kelly to long on where Coulter-Kelly takes a comfortable catch just inside the rope.

    Georgia Adams joins Paige Scholfield.

  6. 6 runs

    Eng 119-2published at 14 overs

    Beaumont 36, Scholfield 31

That's a gorgeous shot! Paige Scholfield lifts Freya Sargent high and almost straight for the first six of the day, before smashing a short one for four to square leg off the next.

She's nearly caught up Tammy Beaumont as England begin to put the pressure on.

  7. Eng 105-2published at 13 overs

    Beaumont 35, Scholfield 19

Paige Scholfield is warming up nicely, driving Ava Canning between the bowler and the umpire and then off the next ball she rocks back to pick it up to the sponge triangle rope-substitute thing at midwicket.

  8. Eng 91-2published at 12 overs

Freya Sargent drops her off spin a touch short and Tammy Beaumont takes full advantage, pulling it to the mid-wicket boundary. England take eight from that over and the momentum just feels to be shifting.

Cracking the flags in Clontarf now - can that weather scoot over to Manchester ASAP, please?

  9. Eng 82-2published at 11 overs

    Beaumont 29, Scholfield 3

Paige Scholfield joined Beaumont at the fall of the last wicket, and she watches as the opener cuts Jane Maguire for another boundary. The fall of Smales seems to have prompted Beaumont to put the foot down a bit.

  10. Eng 76-2published at 10.3 overs

Tammy Beaumont is starting to get going, making room to hit one on off stump from Jane Maguire through the off side.

Better news from Old Trafford where it seems to have stopped raining and a cover or two have been removed.

It is still extremely soggy but the umpires will have a proper pitch inspection at 16:15 BST if there is no further rain.

Maybe there is still hope of a game...

  12. Eng 71-2published at 10 overs

Halfway through, and England are only almost at the score they had off seven overs yesterday, so credit to Ireland.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.1 overs

    Smale c Canning b A Maguire 10 (Eng 64-2)

That's a superb grab from Ava Canning!

Seren Smale picks up Aimee Maguire's left-arm spin into the off side but Canning, at wide mid off, has to move smartly and dives to send England's number three back to the pavilion.

  14. Eng 64-1published at 9 overs

Jane Maguire is the next to get a bowl as Gaby Lewis mixes it up, but she concedes 10 runs including a brutal four from Seren Smale, picked up over the bowler and just short of being a six.

Sun breaking through five miles south in Sale. Could get a 10 over game in if it stays like this.

    Barry applying suncream in hope.

  16. Eng 54-1published at 8 overs

Aimee Maguire's first over is a bit of a mixed bag with a couple of wides and singles, but there is brilliant work between Arlene Kelly and Christina Coulter Reilly on the boundary, the latter flipping it back to the former just inside the rope to prevent a four

  17. Better news from Old Traffordpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 15 September

Some good news from Old Trafford. The rain has eased enough for the groundstaff to emerge for the first time today.

They are currently clearing a path for the super sopper to run over the covers.

The radar suggests there could be some brighter weather on the way, so we may get some sort of game on after all.

  18. Eng 46-1published at 7 overs

Seren Smale comes in at three as the sun comes out in Clontarf (apologies to those of you in Manchester...)

Arlene Kelly concedes just two off that over, and Ireland are certainly applying the brakes.

How Ireland needed this. Gaby Lewis dropped a sitter yesterday. She wasn't dropping this.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.2 overs

    Smith c Lewis b Kelly 28 (Eng 44-1)

Bryony Smith drives but doesn't get enough elevation on it, picking out the Ireland captain Gaby Lews at a pushed back mid off.
