  1. Jofra's backpublished at 5 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 43-3

His last game for Sussex was a long three years ago, in this very competition, and Jofra Archer receives an understandably big roar as he runs in.

The Hove crowd have missed their man.

Despite the carnage at the other end, Keaton Jennings is undeterred and ramps the first ball for four to move to 27 off 12 balls.

So Archer ramps up the pace - almost taking the Lightning opener's edge as he looks to drive.

Two more singles make it six from the over.

  2. 'Great when keeper can stand up'published at 19:22 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs 35-3

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It is great when your keeper can stand up like this, (John) Simpson right up to the stumps applying the pressure.

  3. wicket

WICKET Wells c Archer b Currie 6published at 3.5 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 35-3

    And another!

Big wicket this as Brad Currie, having been smacked for six, tries a slower ball.

Luke Wells falls hook, line and sinker and chips a catch to Jofra Archer.

Big, big wicket. Liam Livingstone is in.

  4. 6 runs

SIX FOR LUKE WELLSpublished at 3.4 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 35-2

Ooof! Brad Currie slides one past Luke Wells' defensive prod forward first ball.

No more messing around as Wells gives himself room to smash the second ball through the legside for a big maximum.

  5. 'These nights are massive financially'published at 19:18 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs 35-2

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Six figures this is worth for Sussex.

There are only seven days a year that Sussex make money and they are the T20s. (This being a bonus extra one after the seven home group matches).

I hate the phrase 'smaller county,' but these nights are massive financially for the club and other counties like ours.

  6. 'Emphatic'published at 19:16 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs 29-2

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Off stump out of the ground in emphatic style.

Lancashire lose two early wickets in the powerplay.

  7. wicket

WICKET Hurst b Currie 6published at 3.2 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 29-2

Matty Hurst gets in on the act as he plonks Brad Currie down the ground for four.

    Then he's gone!

Hurst becomes the second Lancs batter to be bowled off his pads and the visitors have lost a second wicket in 20 balls.

    Luke Wells joins the fray.

  8. 'In the slot'published at 19:15 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs 25-1

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's in the slot, 6-4-6 and the two sixes are to balls Robinson has bowled in the same place again.

  9. 6 runs

SIXES FOR KEATON JENNINGSpublished at 3 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 25-1

    Keaton Jennings resumes and some.

He gets forward to an overpitched ball from Ollie Robinson and wallops it for the night's first six.

Jennings drives the next ball straight down the ground for four.

Robinson goes round the wicket, but Jennings repeats the dose dumping the next ball into the stands where we have a catch.

That's more like it for Lightning.

  10. Postpublished at 2.2 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 9-1

Ollie Robinson continues as you might expect after that start.

Keaton Jennings twice gets himself in a tangle trying to scoop the first two balls.

The second connects with the opener's helmet and there'll be a pause for a concussion test.

    He seems fine.

  11. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 9-1

Not what we were expecting - Brad Currie takes the second over.

Jofra Archer will have to wait a little longer to turn his arm over.

His second ball swings into the pads of Keaton Jennings and there's an appeal. Not out.

Good fielding from James Coles on the ropes denies Jennings the first boundary of the innings and keeps him fown to two.

Seven from the over. Tidy start.

  12. 'Catchable height'published at 19:05 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs 2-1

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

He has gone pretty hard, a big booming drive, but definitely at catchable height, right through the fingertips.

  13. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 1 over

    Sussex v Lancs 2-1

Matty Hurst is in sooner than he would have hoped and almost goes third ball.

He has a swipe at Ollie Robinson and top edges to Tom Alsop at first slip. He leaps high and gets hands to it but it bursts through.

Off the mark with a scratchy single.

Keaton Jennings off the mark with a more assured single. Cracking first over.

  14. 'What a wicket'published at 19:01 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs 0-1

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

They know around here what Phil Salt can do, he can be such a dangerous player, wow what a start for Sussex.

What a breakthrough, what a wicket.

  15. wicket

WICKET Salt b Robinson 0published at 0.1 overs

    Sussex v Lancs 0-1

    Oh my!

Little bit of movement off the seam from Ollie Robinson does for Phil Salt who has his stumps rearranged first ball.

    What a start!

  16. We're under waypublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs

The Sussex pace attack is an awesome thing and Ollie Robinson will open up for them.

Par score here is a smidge over the 190 mark. Can Lancashire top that?

Phil Salt takes the first ball.

  17. We're all setpublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 4 September

    Sussex v Lancs (19:00 BST)

This game has been much-anticipated in these quarters - Hove sold out a fortnight ago.

Their heroes emerge along through much firework smoke, followed by the Lightning openers - and intriguingly Sussex old boys - Phil Salt and Luke Wells.

    Bring. It. On.
