  1. 50 runs

50 for Jamie Smithpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time

    Surrey 225-3 v Somerset 283

Jack Leach bowls to Jamie Smith on 49.

He drives without piercing the off side field then defends down the ground.

The fourth ball is nudged leg side for two and that's an 83-ball 50 for Smith with five fours.

His second 50 of the season after making his first here v Hampshire.

  2. Postpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time

Durham 26-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

He's played and missed, spooned one ball from Tom Taylor agonisingly close to a fielder but ben McKinney replies with a gorgeous lofted straight drive for four to move to nine.

The deficit is 82 and Worcestershire will feel they need a wicket, soon...

  3. 'Haines needs support from Sussex teammates'published at 16:27 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 106-3

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Sussex ran into stormy waters towards the back end of an afternoon session that had appeared to be going well for them.

Beginning their second innings 131 adrift, Tom Haines and Daniel Hughes wiped out 89 of them without too much difficulty, although Joe Clarke put down Haines on 34.

Farhan Ahmed changed the complexion of events, having Hughes caught behind and Clark lbw, with Fergus O’Neill joining the party as Tom Alsop fell cheaply for the second time in the match.

Haines, who was clonked on the helmet early on by Josh Tongue, remains and needs support if the visitors are going to set Notts a challenging target in the final innings of the match.

  4. Postpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time

    Surrey 222-3 v Somerset 283

Two runs to Ben Foakes off a Jack Leach full toss, swept to deep backward square.

One more, driving inside-out to mid off.

Jamie Smith gets a single into long off to move to 48.

  5. Postpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time

Durham 21-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

A meaty cut from Will Rhodes despatches another wide one from Jacob Duffy to the boundary.

He's waiting for any hint of width and then punishing it.

The partnership is 19 from 26 balls. Priceless.

87 needed to win. 34 overs left in the day, in theory...

  6. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time

    Surrey 218-3 v Somerset 283

Ben Foakes will take strike first to start the session, facing left arm spinner Jack Leach.

    He's 17 not out.

Jamie Smith looked a little skittish just before the break, driving at Tom Lammonby every ball of the last over but he's still there on 47.

  7. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time

Durham 16-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Tom Taylor gets one to spit up at Ben McKinney who takes a stroll away to clear his head after taking it on the handle.

Play and miss from the 20-year-old opener next up and he takes another big swipe at the final ball, missing the edge again.

    Nervy stuff.

    Maiden over from Taylor.

  9. Postpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time

Durham 16-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Ben McKinney stretches to slap a short, loose ball from Jacob Duffy over the covers to the ropes.

Will Rhodes had picked up three from the opening delivery of the over to another one offering width.

Not what the Worcestershire doctor ordered.

92 needed to win. Nine wickets needed to win.

  10. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:14 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 106-3

26 behind. Fergus O'Neill has the ball and will see us through to tea.

Single to Tom Haines, nudging the ball leg side.

James Coles plays down the wrong line at one point but the ball dribbles away safely into backward point.

Single to Coles through the off side but that's a very tight and perhaps even non-existent run as Farhan Ahmed picks up sharply from backward point. Coles gets away with it.

That's tea. An encouraging start from Sussex who started 131 behind but Notts have fought back with 3-11, two of them to the off psion of Ahmed and one to Fergus O'Neill.

    25 behind now.

  11. Postpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time

Durham 8-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Will Rhodes times a drive beautifully to find the rope for a valuable boundary off Tom Taylor, who responds by squaring him up in successive deliveries.

Huge pressure on the Pears bowlers not to deliver any loose balls, as Taylor did first-up with a wide half-volley.

  12. 'An extraordinary game of cricket'published at 16:10 British Summer Time

Durham 7-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

It's a most extraordinary game of cricket on a pitch which has offered bowlers plenty of assistance with lots of lateral movement.

Runs have been very hard to come by and it's probably the slowest outfield I have ever seen.

  13. Postpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 105-3

James Coles is squared up a bit as he defends down the track to see out the Fergus O'Neill over, a maiden.

Farhan Ahmed is into his 11th over with a slip and a silly mid off and Tom Haines is in forward block mode.

The fourth ball is a bit shorter and cut away for one.

Two more to Coles, working the ball to fine leg.

  14. 'The game is very open'published at 16:05 British Summer Time

    Surrey 218-3 v Somerset 283

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

The game is very open, if Somerset can come back after tea and grab a few wickets if will be very interesting.

It would disrupt the Surrey batsmen if they can just find another.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time

    Lees b Duffy 2 (Durham 2-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire)

    Breakthrough.

For the second time in the match Alex Lees gets an inside edge onto his stumps off Jacob Duffy.

    He departs for two.

Will Rhodes, who was out in the first innings this morning, comes in. Stoic batter. Joining the brilliant young Ben McKinney.

  16. Tea at the Ovalpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time

    Surrey 218-3 v Somerset 283

Four runs to Jamie Smith, back and across to flay Jack Leach through wide long off.

Tom Lammonby will bowl the last over before tea and Jamie Smith nearly gets himself in trouble going down the track and the ball beats the outside edge.

He's well forward again to flay through the off side for two to reach 47.

    Thick edge over backward point.

Another play and a miss as Smith seems keen to drive at everything.

Tea. A few little alarm bells for Surrey there but the gap is down to 65.

Ben Foakes is 17 not out and Smith remains on 47.

Three wickets lost in the session. Honours even?

  17. Postpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time

Durham 1-0 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Alex Lees taps a single off the final ball of the first over to retain strike.

Tom Taylor will bowl the second over to him.

  18. Durham begin chase of 108 at New Roadpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time

Durham 0-0 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Alex Lees and Ben McKinney are first in the firing line for Durham as Jacob Duffy tries to make an early breakthrough for the Pears.

We have had an early tea at Worcester so this one is going the distance today, one way or other.

In theory Durham only need 0.46 an over to win it, if they want to use the next two days.

  19. wicket

    Alsop LBW b O'Neill 4 (Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 100-3)

Fergus O'Neill celebratesImage source, Rex Features

Tom Haines gets a single into the off side facing Fergus O'Neill to bring up the Sussex 100 in the 28th over but now Tom Alsop has gone.

That ball was full and swinging in a little to strike the pad on off stump.

Absolutely plumb. James Coles is in next.

    Sussex still trail by 31.

  20. Division Two updatepublished at 15:56 British Summer Time

    #bbccricket

Ben Cox's brave knock comes to a close as he is bowled for 53 by Ajeet Singh Dale and we have a thriller on the cards at Bristol.

Leicestershire lead by 10 on first innings, with both sides showing immense grit to secure a batting bonus point after losing a glut of early wickets.

This one should be fascinating across the next 24 hours.
