  1. Postpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time

Durham 44-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Big appeal from Ben Allison as Colin Ackermann plays across the line again and is thumped on the pad, but it's heading down leg and the vociferous appeal smacked more of desperation than anything.

  2. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time

    Surrey 237-3 v Somerset 283

Jamie Smith is again down the track to Tom Lammonby, cutting through the off side for a single to move on to 53.

Ben Foakes drives but doesn't get the ball away this time.

Just the one run in that over.

  3. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time

Durham 42-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Ben McKinney's hesitation almost costs his side a run-out as Colin Ackermann is nearly shaking hands in his crease at the non-striker's end after driving to mid-on, before the 20-year-old hares down the other end.

Jacob Duffy's throw was, luckily for Durham, not close to either set of stumps.

  4. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time

Durham 41-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

It's been an extraordinary game, though not entirely a satisfactory one for both sides.

It's a good line, now you know how T20 bowlers feel. The batters knowing the odds are stacked against them.

if you can just bowl them in the right areas, you'll eventually get your rewards.

Colin Ackermann, a vastly experienced, top-class player... his bat is being beaten on frequent occasions.

It's hard, hard work batting out there.

  5. Postpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 112-4

Four runs to Oli Carter, via an outside edge that guides the ball wide of the three slips off Fergus O'Neill.

Single to James Coles, driving Farhan Ahmed down the ground.

The deficit is down to 19 but the pressure is very much on Sussex to see out the day with some batting in hand.

  6. Postpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time

    Surrey 235-3 v Somerset 283

Good start from Ben Foakes, who strokes two fours off Jack Leach, both driven through cover on the back foot.

Maiden over from Tom Lammonby at the other end.

    Surrey are 48 behind.

  7. Division Two updatepublished at 16:41 British Summer Time

    #bbccricket

An early wicket for Leicestershire as Ben Charlesworth is bowled by the in-form Ian Holland, caught by Peter Handscomb, leaving them 13-1 which is not the start Gloucestershire wanted to their second innings as they have nudged three runs ahead.

Cameron Bancroft will be hoping to have a longer stay this time out as he was dismissed for no score in the first innings.

Middlesex have also suffered a first dismissal of their innings as Nathan Fernandes is removed early-on by Blair Tickner, caught by his former teammate Martin Andersson - whom he bowled earlier to end his 107-run innings.

It's a big total for the visitors to aim for and the partnership of Stephen Eskinazi and Max Holden will be important here.

  8. Postpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time

Durham 37-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Colin Ackermann is beaten all ends up from Tom Taylor's first ball, playing inside the line as the ball glides past his off stump.

The pressure has now swung back onto the visitors...

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time

    Haines c & b O'Neill 64 (Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 107-4)

Tom Haines goes back to Farhan Ahmed, playing the spinner into the off side for a single and now he'll face Fergus O'Neill.

Out! Tom Haines has gone to the third ball of the over!

Absolutely stunning caught and bowled, stretching with one hand on the follow through to stop the drive.

    Oli Carter is taking guard.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time

    Rhodes c Roderick b Taylor 21 (Durham 37-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire)

Big wicket. The 35-run stand is broken.

Tom Taylor bangs one in short of a length and Will Rhodes can't get the blade out of the way, up on his toes, and it flicks the shoulder on the way through to keeper Gareth Roderick.

Colin Ackermann is the new man, joining Ben McKinney.

  11. Play resumes at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:34 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 106-3

Tom Haines will face the off spin of Farhan Ahmed to get the session started.

Sussex need to keep wickets in hand to stay in the game.

Haines has 63 and his batting partner James Coles is on four.

  12. Postpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time

Durham 31-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

It feels like Durham's belief is growing as Worcestershire's ebbs away.

First-change Ben Allison gives up boundaries to Will Rhodes and Ben McKinney in the space of three balls in his opening over and the partnership swells to 33.

    Nine off the over.

    73 required...

  13. 50 runs

50 for Jamie Smithpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time

    Surrey 225-3 v Somerset 283

Jack Leach bowls to Jamie Smith on 49.

He drives without piercing the off side field then defends down the ground.

The fourth ball is nudged leg side for two and that's an 83-ball 50 for Smith with five fours.

His second 50 of the season after making his first here v Hampshire.

  14. Postpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time

Durham 26-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

He's played and missed, spooned one ball from Tom Taylor agonisingly close to a fielder but ben McKinney replies with a gorgeous lofted straight drive for four to move to nine.

The deficit is 82 and Worcestershire will feel they need a wicket, soon...

  15. 'Haines needs support from Sussex teammates'published at 16:27 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 106-3

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Sussex ran into stormy waters towards the back end of an afternoon session that had appeared to be going well for them.

Beginning their second innings 131 adrift, Tom Haines and Daniel Hughes wiped out 89 of them without too much difficulty, although Joe Clarke put down Haines on 34.

Farhan Ahmed changed the complexion of events, having Hughes caught behind and Clark lbw, with Fergus O’Neill joining the party as Tom Alsop fell cheaply for the second time in the match.

Haines, who was clonked on the helmet early on by Josh Tongue, remains and needs support if the visitors are going to set Notts a challenging target in the final innings of the match.

  16. Postpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time

    Surrey 222-3 v Somerset 283

Two runs to Ben Foakes off a Jack Leach full toss, swept to deep backward square.

One more, driving inside-out to mid off.

Jamie Smith gets a single into long off to move to 48.

  17. Postpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time

Durham 21-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

A meaty cut from Will Rhodes despatches another wide one from Jacob Duffy to the boundary.

He's waiting for any hint of width and then punishing it.

The partnership is 19 from 26 balls. Priceless.

87 needed to win. 34 overs left in the day, in theory...

  18. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time

    Surrey 218-3 v Somerset 283

Ben Foakes will take strike first to start the session, facing left arm spinner Jack Leach.

    He's 17 not out.

Jamie Smith looked a little skittish just before the break, driving at Tom Lammonby every ball of the last over but he's still there on 47.

  19. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time

Durham 16-1 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Tom Taylor gets one to spit up at Ben McKinney who takes a stroll away to clear his head after taking it on the handle.

Play and miss from the 20-year-old opener next up and he takes another big swipe at the final ball, missing the edge again.

    Nervy stuff.

    Maiden over from Taylor.
