    Surrey 284-6 v Somerset 283

This is a tough watch for Surrey.

Dan Lawrence drives and misses Lewis Gregory but he gets a single off the next ball and Surrey move ahead.

This is a very tense passage of play.

  2. 'Superb fielding'published at 17:52 British Summer Time

    Surrey 283-6 v Somerset 283

    Dean Wilson
    Daily Mirror cricket correspondent

He took the catch just inches above the ground.

He kept hold of it well, a super bit of fielding from Jack Leach, I think the fans really appreciated it.

  3. DURHAM BEAT WORCESTERSHIRE BY SIX WICKETSpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time
    Breaking

Durham 108-4 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

An extraordinary match finishes in the murk of the second evening.

Debutant Jake Ball picked up 5-45 as the hosts were ousted for 162 after being put in in their first innings, which actually turned out to be worth a first-innings lead of 26 on a slow pitch which offered the bowlers plenty of assistance throughout.

Durham were whipped-out for 136 in reply this morning before blitzing the Pears inside 24 overs after lunch for a total of just 81 with debutant Codi Yusuf taking 4-26 and Ben Raine collecting 6-36 in the match.

Ben McKinney's gritty 34 paced Durham towards their victory target of 108, though it was not without alarm, with Ollie Robinson (22*) and Graham Clark (20*) seeing them over the line in the end for a margin of victory which looks far more comfortable than it felt.

A game which will be spoken about for years to come, but Durham have their first win of the campaign and collect 19 points while Worcestershire take three and remain winless and bottom of the division after three straight losses and back-to-back defeats having earned a first innings advantage.

Josh Tongue is into his ninth over of the innings at the other end and John Simpson gets three runs with a push into the off side that beats Farhan Ahmed.

A wide follows via a very short ball and that's the Sussex 150 in the 49th over.

But James Coles is out this time!

A length delivery, nipping into the pad in front of off stump.

    Fynn Hudson-Prentice to bat next.

That's the end of Ben Foakes, a fine piece of bowling from Lewis Gregory.

Somerset have got the breakthrough they were looking for.

A big moment in the game, it's a lovely wicket to get, off-stump is out the ground.

    A beautiful delivery.

    Foakes b Gregory 42 (Surrey 266-5 v Somerset 283)

Lewis Gregory strikes with the new ball and that was just too good for Ben Foakes.

Cutting into him on the seam, beating a defensive bat and pad on the crease to take out the off stump.

Time for Ryan Patel to have a bat and Surrey trail by 17.

  16. Postpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time

    Worcestershire need something, now...

    24 needed.

  18. Another twist at New Roadpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time

Durham 72-4 need another 36 to beat Worcestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Just when it looked like Durham were more or less home and hosed we have had another twist at New Road.

Durham opener Ben McKinney had reached 34 when he looked to pull a ball from Matthew Waite to the boundary but was caught by the diving Brett D'Oliveira at mid-on.

It was a great catch and did enough to stir up some hope among the home supporters again. A target of 108 is normally a nominal one, but on a ground where 34 wickets have fallen in five and a half sessions, it's anything but.

If the light holds we will be in for a thrilling two-day finish in the next half hour.

  19. Postpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time

    Surrey 262-4 v Somerset 283

Just a single off the Josh Davey over.

Somerset captain Lewis Gregory will share the new ball and he's almost through Ben Foakes, who is stuck in his crease and struck on the pad but the ball hit the inside edge first.

    21 behind and tension building.

    McKinney c D'Oliveira b Waite 34 (Durham 72-4 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire)

    GAME ON.

Back foot crack from Ben McKinney but he can only pick out the diving Brett D'Oliveira at mid-on.

A potentially pivotal innings is over.

Graham Clark joins Ollie Robinson in the middle. He played very nicely... er, about five hours ago.

He's seeking to avoid joining Will Rhodes in getting out twice in the same day.
