  1. Postpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 141-5

Fergus O'Neill is giving nothing away here as James Coles plays defensively into the off side, then ends the over blocking down the ground.

    Maiden over.

Josh Tongue is back in the attack for Notts and Sussex skipper John Simpson is also watchful.

    Sussex lead by 10.

  2. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time

Durham 72-3 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

A lovely straight drive from Ben McKinney off Matthew Waite ticks another two runs off the ask.

He has 34 and this looks increasingly like a match-winning knock.

36 runs needed. Or seven wickets, of course...

  3. Division Two updatepublished at 17:17 British Summer Time

    #bbccricket

    Derbyshire 472 v Middlesex 61-2

The visitors suffer their second loss of their innings following an excellent catch from Brooke Guest, with Martin Andersson picking up his first wicket after his brilliant batting display to dismiss his former skipper Stephen Eskinazi (27).

Max Holdon (15*) will be looking to build a longer partnership with newcomer Leus du Plooy (3*) as they look to cut the deficit.

With a minimum of 15 overs remaining they will be hoping to avoid any further losses today.

  4. new ball

New ball taken at the Ovalpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time

    Surrey 259-4 v Somerset 283

17 overs left tonight and 16 of those could be with a new ball if Somerset take it at the first opportunity.

A wild short ball from Kasey Aldridge sends the ball high over the keeper's head for a wide plus a single.

James Rew did well to get a glove on that and prevent the four.

A single to Ben Foakes, working the ball to long leg.

The new ball is taken straight away and Josh Davey will bowl.

  5. Postpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time

Durham 68-3 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Jacob Duffy returns to the attack and finds the edge of Ollie Robinson's bat with his first ball but it loops past third slip leaving Duffy with his head in his hands.

Robinson is hanging in there with a rather streaky eight off nine balls.

  6. 'McKinney's innings worth 50+ already'published at 17:13 British Summer Time

Durham 37-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

It looks as though Durham are working their way towards victory, but all it takes is a couple of wickets and things would look very different.

Ben McKinney has 31 but that's well worth 50+ in a game like this.

  7. Postpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time

Durham 64-3 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Ben McKinney moves to 30 and is the absolute protagonist in this dramatic finale.

He is hogging the strike and ticking the scoreboard over and his side need just 44 more runs to win.

If the Pears can prise him out, however, the game would surely enter a new phase...

He's 20-years-old. You can see why England rate him so highly. This challenge will do him a lot of good in years to come, you'd imagine.

  8. Postpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 133-5

John Simpson edges Sussex ahead with a controlled outside edge to run the ball to backward point for a single.

The Sussex skipper got off the mark in the previous over, sweeping Farhan Ahmed square for four.

22 overs left tonight and the lead is two.

  9. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time

    Surrey 252-4 v Somerset 283

Dan Lawrence takes Surrey past the 250-mark in the 78th over with a glance to fine leg off Kasey Aldridge.

Surrey are 31 behind with the game in the balance.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time

    Carter c Duckett b O'Neill 12 (Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 125-5)

Sussex have the deficit down to single figures as Oli Carter is squared up by Fergus O'Neill, edging just past a diving third slip for four.

But now he's gone to an absolutely outstanding catch from Ben Duckett at second slip.

The ball flies off the shoulder of a defensive bat and Duckett leaps off like Superman to pluck the ball just above the turf with one hand diving in front of first slip.

Sussex skipper John Simpson is in now. Six behind.

  11. 'It would take a huge effort'published at 17:04 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 121-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

You never know with cricket, this pair could be batting for a long time.

It would take a huge effort from them, though.

  12. 'An ugly end'published at 17:04 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246-4 v Somerset 283

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Some lovely shots from Jamie Smith in that innings, but an ugly end.

On the whole, the Somerset bowlers have been pretty tight after tea.

  13. Postpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time

Durham 61-3 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Matthew Waite's first ball to Ollie Robinson tempts him into a swish which sees a thick edge fly over the slips and away to the rope at third.

Precious runs, but owing more to luck than judgement.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time

Ackermann lbw b Waite 6 (Durham 57-3 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire)

    New hope for Worcestershire...

Colin Ackermann plays and misses again, this time the ball thumps his pads and up goes the finger. He departs for six.

Ollie Robinson joins Ben McKinney in the middle.

Another quick scalp and the Pears might get back on top.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time

    Smith c Gregory b Aldridge 58 (Surrey 246-4 v Somerset 283)

    Soft dismissal.

Short from Kasey Aldridge and Jamie Smith has tried to fetch that from outside off peg.

Big top edge and Lewis Gregory runs into mid on to take the catch.

Dan Lawrence will join Ben Foakes in the middle.

  16. Postpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 121-4

Another tidy over from Fergus O'Neill, costing just a couple of runs.

The four Sussex wickets to fall have been shred by him and off spinner Farhan Ahmed, who is bowling with the skill and confidence of a player well beyond his 17 years of age.

Oli Carter runs a very tight single to the leg side and James Coles has to dive at full stretch to beat the return throw.

He's now covered in dirt and may have ripped one of his gloves.

A poorly judged run and the scoreboard pressure is very telling.

  17. Postpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time

Durham 57-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Ben McKinney moves on to 28, beating his first innings score, with a nice stroke to the rope off Ben Allison.

He's ridden his luck but five boundaries have given his side a great chance of sealing their first win of the campaign, and a couple of bonus days off.

Getting quiet in the Pears field.

  18. 50 runs

50 up for Durhampublished at 16:53 British Summer Time

Durham 50-2 - target 108 to beat Worcestershire

Ben McKinney picks up a fvery ortunate four as he gets a bottom edge to a wild swipe which flies behind the stumps and to Gareth Roderick's right on its way to the rope.

    58 more needed.

  19. Postpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time

    Surrey 241-3 v Somerset 283

Jamie Smith is back and across to Jack Leach, lashing the spinner through extra cover for four - and that shot brings up the 50 partnership with Ben Foakes.

    113 balls.

  20. Postpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 114-4

    Quite the turnaround for Notts.

The hosts were scratching their heads for inspiration when the Sussex openers were rattling along at five runs an over this afternoon, but now the runs have dried to a trickle.

Oli Carter is back and across to Farhan Ahmed to try and force the ball away off side but there's no run.

Sussex remain 17 runs in arrears.
