  1. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time

    Sussex v Warwickshire 160-1

Ollie Robinson abandoned his lengthy run-up and opted to bowl the final ball of his last over as off-spin, with a three-step run-up before a leg-side dot ball.

He's been taken out of the attack, with Henry Crocombe returning. Hopefully for all concerned that was a bit of fun or influenced by fatigue, rather than any kind of ailment for Robinson.

He has bowled 10 overs for the cost of 35 runs in the Hove heat so far.

  2. 50 runs

for Ben Comptonpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time

    Kent 155-2 v Northants

Ben Compton celebrates the county cap he was awarded during the lunch interval by cutting a Dom Leech no-ball for four to reach 50 from 107 balls.

It's the fifth time this season he has made a half-century - and all the previous four were converted into 100s. Northtnts be warned!

  3. 50 runs

for Adam Hosepublished at 14:21 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 150-2

Adam Hose has brought up his second red-ball fifty of the season as he steps back in his crease to carve Liam Dawson away through the covers for his ninth four, bringing up his half-century from 74 balls.

Worcestershire have three batting points this season, from eight matches... I don't want to hex them but, surely, that number changes today?

  4. 50 runs

for James Rewpublished at 41.3 overs

    Somerset 123-3 v Notts

A single off Liam Patterson-White takes James Rew to 50 from 86 balls. He didn't look secure at the start of his innings but is now playing a vital hand for his side, who were 46-3 in the 15th over.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time

    Singh c McManus b Leach 49 (Kent 148-2 v Northants)

    What a shame.

On the brink of a maiden first-class 50 in his second Championshuip match, 18-year-old Ekansh Singh dangles the bat at a ball from Dom Leech and is caught behind.

He put on 102 with Ben Compton and hit seven fours in his 90-ball knock.

  6. Division Two updatepublished at 14:18 British Summer Time

The bowlers are continuing to toil in the second tier.

Derbyshire have taken more wickets than the rest of the division combined, with Lancashire 127-5 with George Balderson joining Keaton Jennings who now has 55*.

Gloucestershire have moved onto 118-2 at Sophia Gardens as Glamorgan continue to seek another breakthrough.

Basement-boys Kent have moved onto 148-1 at Canterbury with Ekansh Singh and Ben Compton eyeing half-centuries against Northamptonshire.

Middlesex are closing on 150 without loss with Josh de Caires and Sam Robson still neck-and-neck in the mid 60s against leaders Leicestershire.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Dom Sibleypublished at 14:18 British Summer Time

    Surrey 131-2 v Durham

Dom Sibley, SurreyImage source, Getty Images

It's not the cleanest of his strokes so far today - an edge through the slip area for four off Daniel Hogg - but it's enough to take Dom Sibley beyond 50 for the seventh time this season.

Sibley gets there from 101 balls, following opening partner Rory Burns' half-century before lunch.

  8. 'Hard work with the Kookaburra ball'published at 14:18 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 149-2

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's hard work out there with the Kookaburra ball, as if we'd expected anything else.

I don't think we're going to see a three day finish here any time soon.

It's not turning, it's not really seaming and it's not really swinging and you've got to rely at the moment on a lot of accuracy.

  9. 50 runs

50s for Tom Westley & Dean Elgarpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time

    Yorks v Essex 117-1

Both Essex batters pass 50 within successive overs - Tom Westley is first to reach that personal landmark and Dean Elgar follows suit as the visitors continue to build at York.

  10. 50 runs

for Keaton Jenningspublished at 14:13 British Summer Time

    Derbyshire v Lancashire 124-5

Where would Lancashire be without Keaton Jennings?

The former skipper has put the Red Rose on his back once again and brought up his 45th first class half-century with an uppercut stroke off a short Blair Tickner delivery which races away to the backward point boundary.

Plenty of work for the visitors to do at sun-drenched Chesterfield, however.

  11. Postpublished at 40.1 overs

    Somerset 116-3 v Notts

Just four overs in his second spell for Mohammad Abbas - he now has figures of 1-28.

He will be replaced by Brett Hutton, who took two wickets this morning, as Notts look to break this Somerset fourth-wicket partnership.

His first ball is driven past mid-on for four by Tom Abell. Superb stroke.

  12. Postpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time

    Sussex v Warwickshire 143-1

Sussex have done well to restrict the scoring opportunities since the interval, with the run rate dropping, despite it warming up, the ball softening and the bowlers toiling.

Rob Yates has however just moved to 73 with a charge down the track to loft spinner Jack Carson over mid-off for four and then pulled Ollie Robinson to the deep square rope for back-to-back fours in the following over.

  13. 'Better from Durham since lunch'published at 14:02 British Summer Time

    Surrey 117-2 v Durham

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Ben Raine has kept it tight since lunch and that's hit the toe end of the bat and Ryan Patel makes his way off.

There's no pace to Raine whatsoever but he's got that up there and he's tempted Patel.

It's been better from Durham since lunch.

  14. Postpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 129-2

Adam Hose has joined Jake Libby on 40* after slashing Dom Kelly away through the covers for his eighth-four, double the number of the stand-in skipper at the other end.

Hampshire being made to toil in the hot sun.

  15. Postpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time

    Sussex v Warwickshire 126-1

What a ball from Ollie Robinson.

The (former?) England man is coming around the wicket to left-hander Tom Latham, who looks more comfortable after lunch than he did before, but he draws the Kiwi into a push at thin-air, the cordon go up in celebrappeal but Robinson has the best view of all and turns on his heels to head back to his mark... he's missed the outside edge by a hair's breadth.

  16. Division Two updatepublished at 13:58 British Summer Time

Ben Compton received his Kent cap from former England paceman Richard Ellison during the lunch interval - he is now 37 not out in in Kent's 122-1 after 32 overs against Northants.

Lancashire have lost their fifth wicket at Chesterfield with Michael Jones caught behind down the leg-side off Blair Tickner - they are 108-5 against Derbyshire.

Having just reached 50, Cameron Bancroft has now gone in Cardiff, lbw to Timm van der Gugten - Gloucestershire are 98-2 against Glamorgan.

It's as you were at Grace Road, with Middlesex now 128-0 in the 35ht over against Leicestershire - Sam Robson has 56 and Josh de Caires 55.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time

    Patel c Robinson b Raine 10 (Surrey 108-2 v Durham)

    Durham have their second wicket!

Ryan Patel takes a swing at Ben Raine and Ollie Robinson does the rest behind the stumps.

Sam Curran makes his way to the middle for Surrey.

  18. Postpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time

    Yorks v Essex 97-1

No runs in the first couple of overs after lunch, where Essex had begun to make steady progress through Dean Elgar and Tom Westley.

Jack White has had an lbw shout against Elgar turned down already this afternoon - the ball appeared to be heading past leg stump and the umpire agreed.

  19. Potts injury is a worrypublished at 13:50 British Summer Time

    Surrey 106-1 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Surrey certainly enjoyed the best of the morning, in the heat of The Oval, as they reached 101-1 by the break. But the big worry for Durham is the fitness of Matty Potts.

He was chasing a drive from Ryan Patel when he collided heavily with an advertising hoarding at the foot of the pavilion. Replays suggest his foot crashed into the boarding and his ankle twisted. He may have hurt his knee as well.

The Durham physio was quickly on the ground to check him out and a doctor joined her from the stand. Thankfully Potts was able to get up after a few minutes and limp up to the dressing room.

He has been replaced by former Surrey player Scott Borthwick, who was included in the Durham squad for the first time this season, but did not make the starting 11.

I am not sure if we will see anything more of Potts in this game. Fingers crossed it is not as bad as it looked. But England may well have the final say on that anyway.

  20. Postpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 110-2

There is the half-century stand for the Pears, Jake Libby glancing neatly off his pads for a fine four before Adam Hose guides a thickish edge past third to find the rope.

Hose is back on familiar territory, of course, having grown up on the Isle of Wight and played for the club up until under-17s.
