As an opener, you feel you have to get on top of the bowling. That's where you need a senior player to come in and just level your head.

That didn't happen and Davina Perrin is in and out.

Almost a carbon copy of the previous ball as Davina Perrin chips up a simple chance...

  3. Superchargers 11-0published at 14 balls

Davina Perrin comes down the pitch, misses the ball and gets four leg byes, nefore she chips to mid off and it just doesn't carry. Ecclestone making things happen...

It is always a good idea whilst the ball is still swinging to throw in that in-swinging yorker to the right hander.

It is difficult to pick up for a batter and more often than not if you get it right you get a dot ball.

  5. Superchargers 7-0published at 11 balls

A great first 10 balls, now it's Sophie Ecclestone who needs to find wickets and fast.

'You're the best in the world aren't you just get one out' comes the chat from a team-mate...

  6. How's stat?!published at 16:26 British Summer Time

Manchester Originals have bowled 54% dot balls in the Powerplay this season, the most of any side. Mahika Gaur has been the prime architect of this, bowling 62% of her deliveries in this phase as a dot.

  7. Superchargers 6-0published at 10 balls

It's a bit streaky but Alice Davidson-Richards gets the first boundary of the response, edging for four. She comes out of her crease to try and eliminate the swing from Gaur.

  8. A friendly rivalry...published at 16:24 British Summer Time

It's derby day on the field, and also in the stands, with Superchargers fans Josh and Jen sat beside Originals fan Rebecca. It looks like Josh and Jen will take home the bragging rights in the women's game, but there's always the men's game later. You can watch Brook v Buttler live on BBC Two from 6pm...

Mahika Gaur and Lauren Filer bowling in tandem is a mouth-watering prospect for the Originals.

Gaur gets the swing from her height whereas Filer gets it to skid on slightly. It is great to watch.

  10. Superchargers 1-0published at 5 balls

Mahika Gaur chucks in a wonderful yorker which Davina Perrin digs out well. Good opening five balls from the seamer. The Superchargers can afford to get their eyes in with this scorecard.

Gaur is staying on for another five.

Davina Perrin has such a big future ahead of her. She only made her debut last year in the Hundred but has had great domestic scores since.

As an opening partnership, Perrin and Davidson-Richards ask different questions which is what you want.

  12. Superchargers 0-0published at 1 ball

Davina Perrin, just 18, and Alice Davidson-Richards are opening the batting for the Superchargers - Mahika Gaur is taking the ball for the visitors. The tall left-armer gets some good shape first up.

Here they come... 95 to win for the Superchargers.

  14. 'Headingley is always awesome to play at'published at 16:15 British Summer Time

Northern Superchargers bowler Nicola Carey speaking on Sky Sports: "It was a good job by the bowlers. Everyone pegged the batters back nicely and taking consistent wickets is always nice.

"This is a fantastic tournament. Headingley is always awesome to play in front of."

On her bowling: "I just try to hit the stumps. I missed a few times today but the girls worked hard and it paid off. You need your fielders out there to support your bowling."

    Cheers Sam!

After some running between the wickets that Inzamam-ul-Haq would wince at it's over to the Superchargers to see this home. We think that the Originals need to bowl them out for 38 (THIRTY-EIGHT) to be in with a shout of going through.

You'd say it's unlikely but Headingley has delivered plenty of shocks in the past.

  16. Superchargers need 95 to winpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time

What do you think of the combined table? Does it tell us much given the men's and women's competitions are separate? Let us know - thumbs up if you think it's useful, thumbs down if you're not so sure.

Anyway, back to this afternoon's game and Northern Superchargers need just 95 to book their place in Eliminator - and clinch second place, which could be important if it rains on Saturday.

To take you through the second innings, it's over to Tom Rostance.

If Superchargers do win today, they go top of the combined table. Originals will just be thankful they aren't going to get this year's wooden spoon...

That felt like it was in slow-motion. There was so much accuracy and precision in that throw.

I would have launched it as hard as I could! Good composure from Nicola Carey

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 95 balls

Gaur run out (Carey) 3 (Originals 94 all out)

Another run out and Originals can't bat out the innings.

Mahika Gaur can't get a yorker away but Seren Smale calls her through for a single.

Bowler Nicola Carey collects the ball and calmly throws under-arm, along the ground and hits with Gaur not even in the shot.

Superchargers were superb, Originals... not so much.
