Manchester Originals bowler Mahika Gaur speaking on BBC Two: "It was not the start we wanted but hopefully Ecclestone and Monaghan can get a good partnership going.

"The aim is to win by a good margin today to get a good net run-rate but there are still a fair amount of balls left. It looks like a good wicket so hopefully there will be some swing up front when we bowl."

On Lauren Filer: "She is rapid and then I just try to swing it. She is great to talk to off the pitch about bowing too."

That was an almighty dive to try and get in. Eve Jones looks in some pain and is holding her shoulder.

Jones run out (Davidson-Richards/ Carey) 3 (Originals 55-5)

Run out by a mile and it looks like Eve Jones has injured herself in the process.

Alice Monaghan calls Jones through for a single after the ball was guided straight to short third.

It looks risky and proves more than that. Alice Davison-Richards picks it up cleanly and throws to the non-striker's end where bowler Nicola Carey collects and flings the ball onto the stumps from close range.

Jones gone and seems to have done some damage to her shoulder as she dives. Hopefully she is able to take the field later.

Manchester Originals need something to get them going and maybe this is it from Alice Monaghan.

The right-hander goes after spinner Lucy Higham and clubs the ball high into the leg side.

The fielder looks to be in the game but it carries just over her head for the first six of the day!

Melie Kerr was itching to get on with it. Linsey Smith kept the ball within width and forced Kerr to make the mistake.

Kerr was cramped for room and it was a very smart catch.

    Kerr c & b Smith 6 (Originals 44-4)

It goes from bad to worse for Manchester Originals, another big name departs.

Melie Kerr tries to get things going and advances to Linsey Smith but gets nowhere near the pitch of the ball.

No conviction to the shot and the New Zealander just plinks it back to the bowler. Well held but a tame dismissal.

Northern Superchargers are playing the situation really well. They know what lies on the line and they are inviting the Originals to hit some big shots.

Superchargers are winning the battle at the moment.

Given the Originals need to get a big score to give themselves a chance of progress, this situation is less than optimal.

Two of the batters they would usually rely on to rack up the runs and score quickly - Beth Mooney and Deandra Dottin - have gone and they're scoring at less than a run-a-ball.

Deandra Dottin will be frustrated with that. On her day she would have smacked that through the covers but she didn't get chance to get going today.

Fantastic bowling from Grace Ballinger. She normally swings the ball back in and Deandra Dottin was maybe expecting that. Instead it angles across.

    Great catch from Bess Heath.

    Dottin c Heath b Ballinger 11 (Originals 39-3)

    Edged and gone!

Superb bowling from Grace Ballinger on her return to the attack.

The left-arm angles it across Deandra Dottin, good length and the Originals batter just feels for it.

Healthy nick and a good, low catch from Bess Heath behind the stumps.

  14. Originals 39-2published at 40 balls

    Northern Superchargers continue to squeeze.

Nicola Carey keeps Amelia Kerr and Deandra Dottin to just a single between them in that set.

Dottin thumped those two boundaries but is now just 11 from 12 balls, while Kerr is on three from six balls.

Northern Superchargers have got everything covered whether it is with bat or ball. They have really clicked as a team over the last couple of years.

  16. Originals 38-2published at 35 balls

Annabel Sutherland has been exceptional so far.

The Australia all-rounder gets through another economical five and now has figures of 1-6 from 10 balls.

    Originals momentum slowed again.

Deandra Dottin is so quick on her feet and has the power to match it.

The outfield here at Headingley is so quick - it's rock solid.

  18. Originals 36-2published at 30 balls

Linsey Smith is back but Deandra Dottin has come in and she is not holding back!

Manchester Originals know that they need a big score with net run-rate set to decide whether they progress to the Eliminator - just winning might not be enough.

The West Indies great thumps Smith's second ball through the covers for four then hammers a pull shot leg side next up for four more.

Linsey Smith has found just 0.9° of spin off the surface this year in The Hundred, lower than any other spinner. She does, however, target the stumps with 42% of deliveries, the second most of any spinner.

You can see why Kate Cross is such a threat.

You have to do something to force her off her length. Batters try to use the crease and move laterally but nobody is not doing that to any success yet.
