  1. Originals 27-2published at 25 balls

After that big five five balls, led by Beth Mooney, it turned into a very disappointing powerplay for the Manchester Originals.

It was 13 from the first five balls, just 14 more from the next 20 and they've lost both openers.

Relentless from Kate Cross. Kathryn Bryce did not get the timing of the ball right at all which led to a simple catch.

Superchargers have fought back strongly here.

Annabel Sutherland is a real package player. She can influence on all areas of the game.

She uses her back of the hand change ups and can bowl a quick bouncer when she wants to. A crucial wicket.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18 balls

    Mooney c Carey b Sutherland 20 (Originals 25-1)

Annabel Sutherland is into the attack and gets rid of her fellow Australian!

The dangerous Beth Mooney has to depart as she tries to drag a ball to leg but mistimes it.

It goes tamely to Nicola Carey at mid-wicket and the Originals skipper is gone.

    Big, big wicket.

It is interesting that Kate Cross was left out of the England World Cup side. She gives you control as a bowler and you can't have threat without control. I wonder where England will get their stability from without her.

Cross is not necessarily the flashy bowler but she has been the steady control in that side for a while.

  8. Originals 23-0published at 15 balls

    Mooney 19, K Bryce 4

Four good balls from Linsey Smith but the left-arm spinner gets the fifth all wrong.

A horrible full toss and Beth Mooney swings it away through the leg side for four.

Kate Cross has had a really good tournament. She has taken wickets and is there with her economy. Her strength is her repeatability to put the ball in a good area.

  11. Originals 16-0published at 10 balls

Kate Cross comes on to bowl the second five and starts superbly.

Just three runs from it but Beth Mooney's intent is clear.

The Originals opener swings and misses at the last ball. She's determined to get her side off to a quick start.

There is always more on the game when you cross the Pennines. These teams have had some really hot contests and today will be no different.

This field is good from Hollie Armitage there are fielders packed into the off-side and some catchers in position.

  13. Originals 13-0published at 5 balls

    Glorious from Beth Mooney.

The Australia left-hander skips down the track and drives through the off side, perfectly picking the gap between mid-off and extra cover.

Four more! A tad short from Grace Ballinger and Mooney pulls through mid-wicket for her third boundary of the set.

This is the sixth time in eight games where Northern Superchargers have chased in this year's competition. Of the five previous chases, they have won on four occasions. Only unbeaten Southern Brave have a better record when fielding first.

  15. Originals 4-0published at 1 ball

Just the start Manchester Originals were after.

Overpitched by Grace Ballinger and Beth Mooney drives, slightly uppishly, back past the bowler for four!

  17. How things standpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time

We're almost ready to go at Headingley and it is so tight in the race for a spot in the Eliminator.

London Spirit won - and won quickly - against Oval Invincibles yesterday to boost their chances, which means Manchester Originals need to beat Northern Superchargers today to go level on points with both Spirit and Superchargers.

If they do, it will all come down to net run-rate and with Originals lagging behind on that, they need to win big or it'll be Superchargers and Spirit facing off at The Oval on Saturday...

  18. 'We want to play with freedom'published at 14:56 British Summer Time

Manchester Originals captain Beth Mooney speaking on BBC Two: "We would have bowled first too. There is a bit on the line for us with net run-rate so hopefully we can get a good total.

"This will be a good opportunity for the group to express their skills. There is a place in the final up for grabs but we want to go out and play with freedom."
