After that big five five balls, led by Beth Mooney, it turned into a very disappointing powerplay for the Manchester Originals.
It was 13 from the first five balls, just 14 more from the next 20 and they've lost both openers.

It is interesting that Kate Cross was left out of the England World Cup side. She gives you control as a bowler and you can't have threat without control. I wonder where England will get their stability from without her.
Cross is not necessarily the flashy bowler but she has been the steady control in that side for a while.

Four good balls from Linsey Smith but the left-arm spinner gets the fifth all wrong.
A horrible full toss and Beth Mooney swings it away through the leg side for four.

Kate Cross has had a really good tournament. She has taken wickets and is there with her economy. Her strength is her repeatability to put the ball in a good area.
Kate Cross comes on to bowl the second five and starts superbly.
Just three runs from it but Beth Mooney's intent is clear.
The Originals opener swings and misses at the last ball. She's determined to get her side off to a quick start.

There is always more on the game when you cross the Pennines. These teams have had some really hot contests and today will be no different.
This field is good from Hollie Armitage there are fielders packed into the off-side and some catchers in position.

The Australia left-hander skips down the track and drives through the off side, perfectly picking the gap between mid-off and extra cover.

We're almost ready to go at Headingley and it is so tight in the race for a spot in the Eliminator.
London Spirit won - and won quickly - against Oval Invincibles yesterday to boost their chances, which means Manchester Originals need to beat Northern Superchargers today to go level on points with both Spirit and Superchargers.
If they do, it will all come down to net run-rate and with Originals lagging behind on that, they need to win big or it'll be Superchargers and Spirit facing off at The Oval on Saturday...
