What a knock. We saw a range of shots on a difficult pitch from Ben Duckett.

This is a massive blow and Pakistan needed it.

It's now up to England on how they weather this storm.

    Game on.

Pakistan are roaring back into this match late in the day as Ben Duckett flashes an edge to first slip off pumped-up off-spinner Sajid Khan.

That's a fine knock from Duckett but England are under pressure now.

  4. Eng 224-3published at 43 overs

Woooft. Harry Brook has started where he left off last week.

His second ball is creamed through the covers for four but his seventh is marmalised off the back foot.

Ben Duckett is smiling with Sajid Khan at the end of the over. Pakistan's off-spinner certainly loves the battle.

12 overs remain in the day but we won't get them in before the close at 13:30 BST.

    It's a big scalp.

You are guessing as the ball could bounce a bit more or keep low. That one kept low.

In the scheme of things Ben Duckett becomes more important. As the centurion, he has seen it all and he has to guide this innings.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 41.3 overs

    Root b Sajid 34 (Eng 211-3)

    Now then!

Joe Root is gutted. He has dragged a sweep shot onto his stumps via his boot off the jubilant Sajid Khan.

Any time Root scores less than fifty these days it's a surprise.

23% of Ben Duckett's runs so far have come from sweeps. Only one man since 2006 (Joe Root v Sri Lanka 2018) has scored more of his first 100 runs in an innings with the sweep shot.

  10. Eng 210-2published at 41 overs

    Duckett 108, Root 34

Ben Duckett looks a little annoyed with himself, having chipped one in the air through the off side. It went into a big gap and earns him three more runs but that's the level he is batting at today. He wants everything to be perfect.

Duckett, hit it, play it, watch it, turn it, leave it, slog or dab it. Bazball logic.

Amid all of that, England's 200 is up. They're still well behind but in a strong position.

Ben Duckett is such a great entertainer. Because of how he's played England find themselves in this position.

On a difficult pitch he has been outstanding with his improvisation.

Duckett looks a relieved man as he takes off his helmet to soak up the applause.

He has got there in 120 balls, which is actually slower than his three previous efforts.

Joe Root punched the air at the other end as the ball was crashed through mid-wicket.

    Still Ben Duckett waits.

    Ben!!

England's opener tries to get to his hundred with the reverse sweep. Somehow the ball lands in the hands of leg slip and for a second there's panic he has got it there off bat or glove but it seems to have hit Duckett's shoulder.

Ben Duckett is insistent on dragging this out. He turns down a second run to stay on 99.

Good job too, that would have been tight.
