  1. Postpublished at 12:30 BST 17 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hants 57-3

Archie Vaughan could have been hit out of the attack here as Toby Albert has gone six, six, four as the spinner's fifth over goes for 19.

Could be a little too close to lunch (10 minutes to go) for a seamer to enter the fray.

Lewis Gregory might challenge Albert to have another go though.

  2. Postpublished at 12:25 BST 17 September

    Sussex 107-4 v Yorks 194

First change by Yorkshire as Matt Milnes receives the call-up from skipper Jonny Bairstow. Can he produce a breakthrough for the White Rose? John Simpson chops him into the covers and they take a single.

  3. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 12:14 BST 17 September

    Gloucs 158-5 v Northants 206

Jack Taylor and Graeme van Buuren's progress is halted by rain in Bristol.

The ground staff are getting covers on and one suspects there is a lengthy delay ahead of us.

  4. Raining at The Ovalpublished at 12:14 BST 17 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 219-8

Bad light has kept us off at The Oval all morning.

Sorry to be the bearer of even worse news but there is now some drizzle so the covers are coming on.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:14 BST 17 September

    Middleton b Leach 14 (Somerset 454-8 dec v Hants 30-3)

Oh yes Jack Leach. That is a peach.

Not as much turn as he got from over the wicket against left hander Ali Orr but more subtle and no less devastating.

Coming round the wicket against right handed Fletcha Middleton he has pitched it on middle to drag the batsman forward and turned it beautifully to clip off.

    Hants are in trouble here.

  6. 'Big wicket of Gubbins'published at 12:14 BST 17 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 30-2

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

That was a bit of a 'sucker punch' and a second wicket for Jack Leach.

Nick Gubbins went for the reverse sweep but got caught at short third man where Archie Vaughan was placed there for precisely that purpose.

  7. Postpublished at 12:11 BST 17 September

    Sussex 101-4 v Yorks 194

    Gone, surely - but no.

George Hill finds the edge of Tom Alsop's bat but neither Adam Lyth or Dom Bess at first and second slips reacts and the ball bisects them and runs away for four.

Wonder what word came into Mr Hill's head at that moment.

  8. Postpublished at 12:05 BST 17 September

    Sussex 97-4 v Yorks 194

Tom Alsop's first boundary of the day.

George Hill overpitches and a cleanly-struck cover drive pierces the field.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:04 BST 17 September

    Gubbins c Vaughan b Leach 5 (Somerset 454-8 dec v Hants 27-2)

Nick Gubbins go and stand in the corner of the dressing room.

The left-hander is being crowded by close fielders facing Jack Leach and clearly decided sweeping was the way forward.

But he has reverse swept and lobbed it straight to Archie Vaughan at backward point.

Very soft dismissal for Hants who could be struggling against Leach if the first few overs are anything to go by.

  10. Missed stumpingpublished at 12:03 BST 17 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hants 27-1

Difficult one for James Rew but he has missed a chance to send Fletcha Middleton, on 14 at the time, on his way off Archie Vaughan.

  11. Postpublished at 12:03 BST 17 September

    Gloucs 152-5 v Northants 206

Spin at both ends as 17-year-old Nirvan Ramesh is brought into the Northants attack.

It's a unique action as he hops and skips his way to the crease before flicking the ball down.

Four runs off the over and it's getting very dark in Bristol...

  12. Women's One-Day Cup latestpublished at 12:01 BST 17 September

It's been a good start for Surrey after captain Bryony Smith called correctly and chose to bat.

The skipper did depart early for four but since then Alice Monaghan (55) has gone to her half century while sharing a partnership of 81 with Emma Jones (33) who became Mary Taylor's first victim for 33.

Monaghan has also just been dismissed so, after 20 overs at Utilita Bowl Surrey are 105-3.

Remember, the winners will play Lancashire Women in Sunday's final back at today's venue.

  13. No play before lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 11:58 BST 17 September

    Durham v Worcs 320-5

Just a single hover cover over the strip at CLS but there will be no play before lunch with another inspection planned for 12:30.

    Lunch remains set for 12:40.

"We will have lost about 34-35 overs, with it being a 104 over day. Can’t see this being anything other than a draw," says BBC Radio Newcastle's Martin Emmerson.

  14. Postpublished at 11:58 BST 17 September

    Sussex 91-4 v Yorks 194

John Simpson avoids the dreaded duck as he steers Jack White down to third man and picks up a couple of runs.

He is fortunate from the next one as a thick edge just eludes the clutches of a diving third slip and rolls away for four.

  15. 'This may be the shape of things to come'published at 11:55 BST 17 September

    Somerset 454-8 dec v Hampshire 13-1

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset will be hoping for more of that as Jack Leach bowls Ali Orr for eight.

It pitches outside the off stump and comes back in really sharply. Not much Orr could do about that and there was a gap between bat and pad, which Leach found.

  16. Postpublished at 11:54 BST 17 September

    Sussex 85-4 v Yorks 194

George Hill is convinced he has Tom Alsop lbw, pinned in the crease.

The umpire says no - but that must have been mighty, mighty close.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:48 BST 17 September

    Orr b Leach 8 (Somerset 454-8d v Hants 13-1)

Jack Leach is into the action after five overs and he makes the breakthrough straight away.

Big turn on the final delivery of his first over and he has ripped it past the forward prod of Ali Orr.

  18. 6 runs

Postpublished at 11:46 BST 17 September

    Gloucs 140-5 v Northants 206

Jack Taylor doesn't need a look at Calvin Harrison's leggies.

The first ball he faces from the spinner is launched down the ground for six.

Taylor and Graeme van Buuren take 14 in total from the over.

  19. Play underway at Hovepublished at 11:43 BST 17 September

    Sussex 84-4 v Yorks 194

Our patience is rewarded, we have play at the County Ground.

The Yorkshire team shuffle around on the boundary edge as skipper Jonny Bairstow makes them wait for his entrance - he's last down the steps.

George Hill has five balls to bowl to complete the over interrupted when the umpires took the teams off for bad light last evening.

John Simpson - on nought - is on strike under the lights and defends the first delivery securely.

  20. Postpublished at 11:43 BST 17 September

    Gloucs 130-5 v Northants 206

Spin for the first time today in Bristol.

Calvin Harrison starts with a loopy full toss, which Graeme van Buuren whips through the leg side for four.
