Summary

  1. drinks break

    Ban 58-1published at 15 overs

Perhaps this is some sort of performance art from Rubya Haider? Trying to see how many times she can fail to get out.

She top edges over mid-wicket, but the ball clears the inner ring and lands safe as various fielders converge.

Bangladesh will be very happy with this. This is a higher run-rate than they are usually scoring at.

They have ridden their luck but have survived it and a very good foundation is being laid. Australia do have the batting to chase down pretty much anything we have seen so far however.

  3. Ban 56-1published at 14 overs

Sharmin Akter has looked pretty calm here.

She pulls Annabel Sutherland for four behind square, the only runs conceded by the Australia all-rounder in her first 12 deliveries.

That is a lovely shot from Sharmin Akter Supta. A dab and a late cut but just had the width on offer.

A nice bit of confidence from Bangladesh.

  5. Ban 52-1published at 13 overs

Rubya Haider does her thing, edging short of slip and taking a single off Ash Gardner.

Sharmin Akter follows up with a controlled shot past the cordon, bringing up Bangladesh's fifty of 76 balls.

Bangladesh have got their bowling attack down to a tee. But batting wise, the 200 plus scores are very rare and they need more depth and back-up through the middle-order.

Hopefully this is an area that they can fix.

  7. Ban 45-1published at 12 overs

Changes at both ends as Annabel Sutherland replaces Darcie Brown.

The right-arm seamer starts with a maiden bowled to Rubya Haider.

Rubya Haider Jhilik has really not moved her feet around the crease today which is surprising. You would think all of these close calls would be a wake up call.

This team is an inspiration at the moment for the Bangladesh fans because they are really capable if given the right funding.

  9. Ban 45-1published at 11 overs

    Consecutive fours for Bangladesh.

It is time for spin as Ash Gardner comes into the attack, and Rubya Haider picks up her fifth boundary by working the over's opening delivery off her pads to send it to the ropes.

  10. Ban 37-1published at 10 overs

A first clean boundary shot to end the powerplay.

New batter Sharmin Akhter times Darcie Brown's final delivery nicely through mid-on for four.

The fielders go back - time for some spinners?

Rubya Haider Jhilik is starting to count her lives now. She is struggling to read the pace and bounce of the Australia bowlers but another lifeline for her.

Australia captain Alyssa Healy has to offer apologies to her team-mates as Rubya Haider knicks behind but sees the chance drop out of the gloves.

Should have been taken - Haider goes through another of her nine lives.

That innings was painstaking. Fargana Hoque likes to defend the wicket and go slow but the pressure to try and get off the mark was starting to show and has cost her her wicket.

'Finally, Australia get their breakthrough' - Hoque caught at slip by Mooney for eight

Finally Australia have joy in the slip cordon!

Megan Schutt crowns her maiden with a wicket off the final delivery as Fargana Hoque makes a big push outside her off stump.

The ball takes an edge and Beth Mooney takes the catch, falling to her right.

  16. Ban 32-0published at 8 overs

Just two runs off this over, a wide from Darcie Brown and then Fargana Hoque runs a quick single to point.

This start from Bangladesh is probably best described as steady - they're going at exactly four an over.

  17. Ban 30-0published at 7 overs

Just one single off the over, Fargana Hoque's glance down to fine leg from the opening delivery.

Megan Schutt has figures of 0-11 from her first four overs.

A tough chance but Phoebe Litchfield would expect herself to take that. It is always hard when the wicketkeeper is up close to the stumps.

You can tell she is disappointed.

  19. dropped catch

Haider dropped on 22published at 6.3 overs

    Ban 30-0

    Put down now!

Rubya Haider is living a charmed life - she edges Megan Schutt this time and Phoebe Litchfield can't hold on diving to her right at first slip.

Just how long can the Bangladesh opener hold on?

  20. Ban 29-0published at 6 overs

Guess what - another four through the slips!

Darcie Brown finds Rubya Haider's edge again and the ball flies away to the left of a diving Beth Mooney at first slip.

Phoebe Litchfield immediately drops in there with Mooney moving to second slip, as Australia go hunting for wickets.
