Scrimshaw LBW b Trevaskis 2 - Northants 324-8 (target 501 to beat Leics)

George Scrimshaw waits for a full delivery and clips to mid wicket for no run.

An arm ball and he's missed it trying to defend on the front foot.

Liam Trevaskis has his fourth wicket of the innings and Leicestershire are nearly through Northants.

Ben Whitehouse is on his way to the middle.

Potts c Bean b Bess 0 (Durham 83-7, still trail by 46 runs)

Yorkshire celebrate a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Durham are circling the plug hole here.

Matthew Potts has lasted just three balls and reached forward to defend and popped one up to Finlay Bean at forward short leg.

    Still trailing by 46 runs.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:33 BST 27 September

    Raine c Revis b Bess 6 (Durham 83-7, trailing by 46 runs)

Ben Raine has tried to lift it over long on and got a leading edge which has skied up to Matthew Revis at deepish mid off.

  4. Postpublished at 14:32 BST 27 September

Northants 323-7 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Bowling change from the Lynn Wilson End. Left arm spinner Liam Trevaskis is coming on but not just yet.

The umpires are inspecting the ball. The ball is apparently fine.

Now helmets are being brought on to the ground.

We have a forward short leg in plus a slip.

  5. Postpublished at 14:30 BST 27 September

Northants 323-7 (target 501 to beat Leics)

We have a slip and a gully in for Logan van Beek, bowling to Stuart van der Merwe.

VDM defends out into the covers.

Full toss! Driven through extra cover but stopped on the boundary by Sol Budinger. Three runs.

Three balls potentially left for George Scrimshaw to negotiate.

Two slips now. Leg side and turned to deep backward square for two.

He's off the mark. He is nearly foxed by a yorker but survives with a hurried jab on a thick inside edge.

  6. Postpublished at 14:26 BST 27 September

Northants 318-7 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Josh Hull is digging the ball into the hip of George Scrimshaw, who jabs the ball down into the leg side.

Another short ball and he "wears" it, then looks back to make sure the ball hasn't rolled back on to the stumps. It hasn't.

The last ball is turned just wide of Sol Budinger at short leg.

    An eventful maiden over.

  7. 'Dreadful from Durham'published at 14:22 BST 27 September

Durham 76-6, trail by 53 runs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I will be surprised if Durham survive to tea here.

    This is dreadful from them.

They trail by 53 and Graham Clark has gone for a duck. You can not make this up.

  8. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 27 September

Northants 318-7 (target 501 to beat Leics)

A very full delivery from Logan van Beek and Stuart van der Merwe does well to dig it out.

That partnership with George Bartlett was worth 128.

Good pace and carry from Van Beek but enough width for Van der Merwe to leave the ball.

He subsequently misses an attempted drive through extra cover.

    Maiden over.

45 overs left and it feels unlikely that we will see as many as that.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:20 BST 27 September

    Clark c Agarwal b Hill 0 (Durham 76-6, trail by 53 runs)

George Hill has his 50 wickets for the season and the skids are under Durham and that was a poor shot choice from Graham Clark.

Leaning away from it and trying a cut with his bat at 45 degrees he has pinged it straight to Mayank Agarwal at backward point.

  10. Postpublished at 14:18 BST 27 September

Northants 318-7 (target 501 to beat Leics)

A Josh Hull wide follows the wicket of George Bartlett.

A better line now and George Scrimshaw is decisively forward to defend into the off side.

Over bowled and Leicestershire have a spring in their step after breaking that stubborn and productive seventh wicket partnership.

  11. 'Durham do not look long for this world'published at 14:17 BST 27 September

Durham 74-5, trailing by 55 runs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham do not look long for this world, they are facing an innings defeat here and relegation when survival was handed to them gift wrapped this morning.

Ollie Robinson's gone again cheaply, he's had a really poor season this year.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:14 BST 27 September

    Bartlett c Budinger b Hull 50 - Northants 317-7 (target 501 to beat Leics)

    The celebrations are over.

One ball after that century from Stuart van der Merwe, George Bartlett has gone.

Back of a length from Josh Hull, loose drive from the crease and edged to Sol Budinger at slip.

One George is replaced by another. Here's George Scrimshaw.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:14 BST 27 September

Robinson lbw b Hill 7 (Durham 74-5, trailing by 55 runs)

Ollie Robinson is not happy with that but, after looking at the replays, that was probably hitting leg stump.

Durham remain 55 runs adrift with just five second innings wickets in tact and they are in a world of bother here.

Hampshire will be watching intently and could be about to gratefully receive a reprieve.

  14. 100 runs

100 for Stuart van der Merwepublished at 14:13 BST 27 September

Northants 317-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Stuart van der Merwe on 99 not out facing Logan van Beek...

Short! pulled fine for four and he has the century off 168 balls with 11 fours!

that's only the third time in Northants history that one of the club's players has scored a century on first class debut.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:11 BST 27 September

    Hammond c Robson b Higgins 33 (Middlesex 634-9 dec v Glos 286 & 178-5)

A good afternoon session continues for Middlesex as they take a third Gloucestershire wicket since lunch.

Miles Hammond came in scoring quickly but was slowed by the home bowlers and has now gone - edging to Sam Robson at slip off Ryan Higgins.

    Glos still trail by 170.

George Bartlett drives to mid off. A little fumble in the field and he runs the single to get to 50.

    90 balls with seven fours.

  17. Postpublished at 14:10 BST 27 September

George Bartlett faces on 49 not out.

  18. Postpublished at 14:09 BST 27 September

Northants 311-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Logan van Beek is round the wicket to Stuart van der Merwe.

Pushed to backward point and that's two runs. He has 94.

Short and pulled fine for four! 98 not out.

  19. Postpublished at 14:04 BST 27 September

Northants 305-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Double change. Josh Hull is coming on at the Lynn Wilson end.

Short and George Bartlett is on his toes to chop the ball to deep third for a single to move to 49.

Single off the back foot to cover from Stuart van der Merwe.

  20. Postpublished at 14:02 BST 27 September

Northants 303-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Bowling change from the David Capel End. Logan van Beek is coming on and his first ball is punched away on the back foot by George Bartlett for two.

    That takes him to 47.

The next ball swings in sharply, Bartlett leaves and the ball spears to fine leg for four byes. That's the innings 300 in the 91st over.

The target dips below 200. Steady now!

Single off the back foot to point. He's on 48.
