  1. Back under way at Headingleypublished at 13:12 BST 27 September

    Yorks 475 v Durham 346 & 27-1

Dom Bess is back with ball in hand and Alex Lees in his sights as the afternoon session kicks off in Leeds and immediately has a big shout for lbw turned down.

  2. Postpublished at 13:10 BST 27 September

Northants 240-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Three runs to Stuart van der Merwe but it's off the edge of a drive through a vacant gully to deep third.

    Frustration for Rishi Patel.

Over. now he will face Liam Trevaskis.

  3. Play resumes at Northamptonpublished at 13:06 BST 27 September

Northants 235-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Stuart van der Merwe will face Rishi Patel on 61 not out and playing his first game at first class level.

George Bartlett starts at the non-striker's end on 18.

  4. Reece's season to rememberpublished at 12:49 BST 27 September

A fine stat to come out of Derbyshire's win over Kent is that Luis Reece became only the 51st person, worldwide, to score a double century and take five wickets in a first-class match.

Reece hit 211 as Derbyshire posted 698-6 declared, and then followed it up with 5-63 in Kent's second innings.

Those dismissals see him end the season with 50 wickets - the most in Division Two.

  6. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 12:40 BST 27 September

    Middlesex 634-9 dec v Glos 286 & 142-2

Ollie Price makes it to lunch on day four unbeaten on 61 alongside Miles Hammond who has joined in swashbuckling style with 27 from 22 balls.

Just the one wicket for Middlesex so far today - Joe Phillips caught at gully by Sam Robson off the bowling of teenager Seb Morgan.

    Glos trail by 206.

  7. Lunch at Headingleypublished at 12:34 BST 27 September

    Yorks 475 v Durham 346 & 27-1 (trail by 102 runs)

That will be that for the first session and Durham will be reasonably pleased with that, going in one wicket down after Emilio Gay fell to George Hill.

Alex Lees has looked quite assured and walks in on 17 while Ben McKinney has lived life a little more dangerously to go in unbeaten on 1 from 22 deliveries.

There is still plenty of jeopardy in this match given Durham still trail by 102 runs but with the skies looking blue batting should be a relatively straightforward task when they return.

  8. Lunch at Northamptonpublished at 12:34 BST 27 September

Northants 235-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Jonny Tattersall is having a bowl.

A very occasional leg break bowler.

One slip comes in. George Bartlett blocks down the ground.

He's bowling off four paces and George Bartlett misses out on a wide ball outside off stump, reaching for it and flat batting it down the pitch.

Runs here, though with a sweep square for four.

A single going back to cut into the off side.

Leg side and swept very fine by Van der Merwe for two. He got a top edge but that was over and behind the keeper.

Single to mid off via a short ball and that's lunch.

Stuart van der Merwe lunches on 61 not out.

    George Barltett has 18.

Northants have a mountain to climb but have had a good session of play this morning, losing just a single wicket on a slowing pitch.

Saif Zaib was caught by Eskinazi off the bowling of Josh Hull for 58, taking him beyond 1400 runs for the season.

Even so, a draw is not out of the question.

  9. Postpublished at 12:27 BST 27 September

    Yorks 475 v Durham 346 & 27-1 (trail by 102 runs)

Two absolute crackers from George Hill who beats the forward push of Ben McKinney in consecutive deliveries.

Hill brings in Jordan Thompson at fourth slip and an edge immediately goes his way.

The Yorkshire seamer needs two wickets to reach 50 for the White Rose this season.

  10. Postpublished at 12:27 BST 27 September

Northants 227-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

A quicker, shorter ball from Rishi Patel is punched to cover but stopped by Jonny Tattersall.

Single to Stuart van der Merwe off the second ball, pushed to mid on.

George Bartlett is back and across, driving into the off side for one.

Van der Merwe drives and nearly gets an inside edge on to his stumps but the ball rolls away past the sticks to backward square.

  11. Postpublished at 12:25 BST 27 September

Northants 225-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

George Bartlett turns Liam Trevaskis round the corner but it is a little tight to take the single, which Stuart van der Merwe declines.

We should have time for a couple more overs before lunch with spin now at both ends.

  12. Postpublished at 12:23 BST 27 September

    Yorks 475 v Durham 346 & 27-1

Dom Bess has three around the bat of Alex Lees, two slips and a silly mid off as Yorks try to apply a bit of pressure.

There was not much for him in the first innings (he took 1-68) and not much sign of turn so far.

  13. Postpublished at 12:23 BST 27 September

Northants 222-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

As suspected, it is indeed spin at both ends here at Northampton.

Rishi Patel is coming on and starts with a full toss.

Stuart van der Merwe taps away for three.

George Bartlett gets width to a ball that doesn't turn and cuts away for one run.

Single to Van der Merwe and Bartlett sees out the over.

The pitch is playing quite slowly and while the result is a likely win for Leicestershire, there is still plenty of work to do on a sluggish surface to wrap this game up.

  14. DERBYSHIRE BEAT KENT BY AN INNINGS AND 229 RUNSpublished at 12:22 BST 27 September

    Kent 271 & 198 v Derbyshire 698-6 dec

    Luis ReeceImage source, Rex Features

A comprehensive victory for Derbyshire who have been in control from minute one on Wednesday.

Luis Reece with the final dismissal which will be extra sweet for him as it not only give him a five-wicket haul but also a total of 50 wickets for the season.

He has put up some excellent numbers this season - Reece has taken five wickets in an innings four times this season - double that of anyone else - and his average of 19.00 is also top of the pile.

For Kent, the end of a very disappointing campaign may come as something of a relief.

They finish a distant last in Division Two this season - the only way is up.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:20 BST 27 September

    Phillips c Robson b Morgan 35 (Middlesex 634-9 dec v Glos 286 & 110-2)

First wicket of the match for Seb Morgan who tempts Joe Phillips into a drive which he edges to Sam Robson at gully.

A nice moment for the Spanish-born right-arm quick who is a product of the Middlesex youth system.

Morgan, 18, was born in Malaga - which has me reminiscing about my holiday earlier this summer.

The Price/Phillips partnership comes to a close for 92.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Stuart van der Merwepublished at 12:19 BST 27 September

Northants 217-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

It's gloomy here and the umpires are having a chat.

We are playing on but it might be spin only at this stage.

Spinner Liam Trevaskis bowls round the wicket... tapped to mid on for one and that's a 50 off 103 balls with five fours.

He was dropped at slip on seven early on by Rishi Patel - off Trevaskis.

He's playing in his first game at first class level and has a day to be proud of in spite of the likely end result of this match.

  17. Concussion checkpublished at 12:18 BST 27 September

    Yorks 475 v Durham 346 & 26-1 (trail by 103 runs)

Alex Lees takes one on the helmet from George Hill and the physio is out to ask him to spell floccinaucinihilipilification backwards or something.

He doesn't look at all perturbed so we are set to go again.

  18. Postpublished at 12:15 BST 27 September

Northants 216-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Another short ball from Logan van Beek and Stuart van der Merwe defends into the leg side.

The fourth ball is a touch leg side and worked away for one and that takes Van der Merwe to 49.

  19. Postpublished at 12:13 BST 27 September

Northants 215-6 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Logan van Beek bowls from the David Capel End and George Bartlett works the ball to long leg for one.

Stuart van der Merwe ducks inside a bouncer.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:13 BST 27 September

    Parkinson c Donald b Chappell 0 (Kent 271 & 198-9 v Derbyshire 698-6 dec)

Matt Parkinson lasts six balls before being pushing one to Aneurin Donald fielding close in on the leg side.

    One to go for Derbyshire.
