Essex 51-2 (target 95 to beat Somerset)

Hello! Short from Craig Overton. Charlie Allison is back and across to scythe that ball through cover for four.

What a stylish way to reach the innings 50 - in just nine overs.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Saif Zaibpublished at 11:05 BST 27 September

Northants 156-5 (target 501 to beat Leics)

Incredibly, this is his 13th score of 50 or more this season and one hopes he is not superstitious.

73 balls with six fours - and he completes the milestone with a single scooped into the leg side off Ian Holland.

Essex 44-2 (target 95 to beat Somerset)

Paul Walter is hit on the pad by Lewis Gregory in his crease but it is just a bit too high for the LBW.

    Three runs there.

  4. 'Walter is the ideal batsman for this scenario'published at 11:04 BST 27 September

Essex 39-2 (target 95 to beat Somerset)

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Essex need another 56 with eight wickets in hand. Sounds straightforward but another wicket now and you never know.

Paul Walter is the ideal batsman for this scenario.

Saif Zaib is back and across to Liam Trevaskis to slap the spinner through wide mid off for four.

    Yorks 475 v Durham 346 & 0-0

Jack White kicks things off bowling to Alex Lees.

Neither of these sides need to do anything other than draw now Hants have lost to Surrey at Southampton.

    But... but.. you never know.

Yorks have said they will go for the win and they do have a lead of 129 runs.

  7. 'Westley didn't really need to play at that'published at 11:00 BST 27 September

Essex 39-2 (target 95 to beat Somerset)

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It was a good catch by James Rew and Tom Westley pushing outside the off-stump once too often, he didn't really need to play at that.

Second Essex wicket to go down just when these two looked to be going along fairly comfortably.

SURREY WIN BY 20 RUNSpublished at 10:57 BST 27 September

Fuller c Foakes b Chahar 37 (Hants 160 all out)

It's over. An edge as James Fuller goes for a cut, edges it and Rahul Chahar mops up to finish with 8-51.

Fuller can't quite believe it having to within 20 runs of a tie which would have saved the season and their top flight status.

Relegation is not confirmed until the result of the Yorks-Durham game is in. If Yorks win at Headingley Hants could yet be saved.

But the feeling of despair hangs heavy at Southampton.

Charlie Allison is afforded a bit of width to see out the Lewis Gregory over.

    Three slips in now. Over.

Time for Craig Overton to bowl to Paul Walter. Game on.

Out! Tom Westley is back to Gregory, squared up and fencing to keeper James Rew!

Is this happening? Here comes Charlie Allison...

    Hants 160-9 (22 runs required)

Umpires seem concerned about the light so Rory Burns cannot go to seam with Matthew Fisher and sticks with Dan Lawrence.

James Fuller moves to 37 with a single off the second ball. Brad Wheal blocks four balls competently enough.

This is gripping stuff given what is at stake.

Saif Zaib is back and across to Liam Trevaskis to cut but the ball is stopped at point.

He drives into the off side and Fuller takes the single... and the strike.

  18. Postpublished at 10:47 BST 27 September
