Dreadful fieldling. It should have been a two, or even a single. Hlubi did get down to it but perhaps she over-ran slightly.

    Oh dear.

Ayanda Hlubi has bowled very well this morning but that is a shocker in the field.

Maia Bouchier clips Annerie Dercksen off her pads to deep backward square, it should be two as Hlubi comes around from fine leg - but the fielder lets the ball through her legs.

Because of how little Test cricket women play, you only get one or two chances a year to decide how you want to play it.

Heather Knight said she doesn't want her batters to change too much which is probably the best way to go about it.

Ayanda Hlubi has been the pick of the bowlers. She's induced 25% false shots in her four overs so far today.

    Beaumont 19, Bouchier 19

Another challenging over from Ayanda Hlubi and although she concedes another boundary, this one is more of a win for the bowler.

She tempts Tammy Beaumont into the drive and the ball flies off a thick edge, but wide of gully, to the rope.

  6. Big Bash gets under waypublished at 08:43 Greenwich Mean Time

Also down under, the men's Big Bash has lift-off with Perth Scorchers hosting Melbourne Stars.

Lancashire's Keaton Jennings and Matty Hurst are in the Perth side, and will line up against Tom Curran and Joe Clarke.

Listen to that one here, and swat up on the competition here.

If you bowl straight at Tammy Beaumont early in her innings, she can get stuck in the crease and the front pad can come across her.

It's a slight weakness of hers so South Africa need to keep targeting the stumps.

Maiden to start for Annerie Dercksen and she finishes it with a beauty that nips away to beat Tammy Beaumont.

There is a very optimistic appeal for caught behind but that missed the bat by a distance. Still, with no DRS, I guess it is worth asking the question.

First bowling change of the innings for South Africa as Marizanne Kapp is replaced by Annerie Dercksen.

It was an excellent cover drive from Beaumont to end the fifth over. Across her international career, she's scored 29% of her runs through the off-side 'V' (the point and cover region).

Of the players with 1000+ runs for England since 2012, only Danni Wyatt-Hodge (37%) has scored runs more often through that region.

    Brilliant over from Ayanda Hlubi.

The first ball whistles past Tammy Beaumont's edge before a nip-backer has Maia Bouchier worried later in the over.

However, after five good balls, the last one is a leg stump half-volley and Bouchier flicks it through mid-wicket for four.

I was expecting the pitch to do a bit more. The spinners will come in and be effective later on when the pitch has broken down a bit.

It's not offered much for the bowlers so far but it does have a hint of swing.

Maia Bouchier has been the most impressive out of the two openers for me. She's been pretty solid and has played nice and straight.

South Africa have asked a few questions and have been slightly unlucky.

  14. Eng 33-0published at 7 overs

Nicely played by Maia Bouchier as she punches through the off side two balls running.

The first is off the back foot, the next off the front and each time she gets two off Marizanne Kapp.

The outfield in Bloemfontein is looking very dry at the moment but I should warn you, the forecast for later today suggests it may not stay that way... A storm is on the way apparently but we shall see.

  15. Eng 29-0published at 6 overs

Slight misjudgement from Maia Bouchier as she plays back to a delivery that looked too full to do so.

It almost costs her as the ball from Ayanda Hlubi nips back and finds the inside edge but the ball goes through Bouchier's legs and away for a single.

It's a great start from England. I am impressed with how these two look out in the middle.

Maia Bouchier is getting into good positions with the bat and Tammy Beaumont looks really free-flowing. They will be feeling happy.

  17. Marnus falls to bail switch trickpublished at 08:27 Greenwich Mean Time

Overnight in Australia, the hosts enjoyed the better of day two of the third Test against Australia, closing on 405-7.

Travis Head and Steve Smith both hit tons in Brisbane.

But there were some moments of joy for India, including a five-wicket haul for Jasprit Bumrah (who else?!) and this moment of Marnus magic, with Labuschagne nicking off after a bail switch...

Marizanne Kapp is the big threat this morning. She will still be thinking about the lbw of Tammy Beaumont and it will be eating up at her.

We won't stop talking about it because it could have been crucial!

  19. Eng 28-0published at 5 overs

    Top shot.

After five dot balls, Marizanne Kapp goes searching for something with the last and overpitches.

It's a half-volley really and Tammy Beaumont is not going to miss out, driving crisply through the covers for four.

Although it's a different format, it shouldn't change how the teams play that much. England are still aiming to get a high batting total.

You should treat it as you would an ODI and that mindset will put pressure on the opposition.
