It's a great grab. He's taken the catch over his head. Rizwan didn't get hold of it as well as he'd have liked.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5.5 overs

    Muhammad Rizwan c M Adair b McCarthy 17 (Pak 39-2)

Muhammad Rizwan flicks the ball down to the long boundary but that's a great catch just inside the rope - or is it?

Mark Adair does a bit of ballet after clutching the ball with both hands above his head, but his feet are well inside the rope. The replay confirms it, and Rizwan trudges off.

One hand off the bat. Spectacular from Rizwan.

It was almost like a one-handed backhand in tennis, just flicking it away.

  5. Pak 37-1published at 5.2 overs

Muhammad Rizwan flails Barry McCarthy off his legs with one hand for a four to backward square - how did he do that?

Skill, as we used to say at school.

It wasn't a great throw, it hits the stumps and there is nothing the wicketkeeper could do about it.

Mark Adair is not pleased at all.

  7. Pak 31-1published at 5 overs

    Target: 107

There's still a bit in the pitch and in the atmosphere for Ireland's bowlers, but they have been let down by some sloppy fielding from Harry Tector. His wild throw gives keeper Lorcan Tucker little chance and it flies away for four overthrows.

Rubbing it in, the next ball ends up with Tector but his captain gives him a "go on, I dare you to throw it" stare...

  8. Pak 24-1published at 4.2 overs

Babar Azam is in and off the mark from his first delivery.

Ireland have life, they have hope, thanks to Mark Adair.

Mark Adair has been the danger bowler so far and he's deserved that wicket.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.1 overs

    Saim Ayub c Tucker b M Adair 17 (Pak 23-1)

Saim Ayub's blood is up and he tries another legside hoick, but it flies high and behind him, giving Lorcan Tucker enough time to move to his right and safely pouch a steepler.

That is the danger of going back of a length consistently, the batters will know what's coming.

This one is slightly shorter from Little and Saim Ayub isn't going to miss out.

  13. Pak 23-0published at 4 overs

    Target: 107

Saim Ayub rocks back and pulls a short one from Josh Little to the boundary, and off the next he whips an overpitched one off his legs for four through midwicket.

Just to make things worse, Little is given a second and final warning for running down the pitch.

Ireland need to get into that Pakistan middle-order, which hasn't been great in this tournament.

We haven't heard anything about Usman Khan but I wouldn't expect him to bat after that collision towards the end of the Ireland innings.

    That is trademark Saim Ayub.

  16. Pak 13-0published at 3 overs

    Target: 107

Mark Adair's second over is a good one until Saim Ayub, off the last delivery, lifts him a long way over square leg for the first six of the Pakistan innings.

Ireland were 15-4 at this stage...

  17. Pak 7-0published at 2.1 overs

    Target 107

Muhammad Rizwan likes a chat, and he's having a yarn with Mark Adair after clipping him for a single. It seems friendly enough so far.

    Andrew Leonard

Whipped into the leg side with real style and panache... but it's gone almost nowhere.

He must have thought it was four or six but he ends up with just two.

  19. Pak 6-0published at 2 overs

    Target 107

Josh Little is next with his left-arm seam and he has the left-handed Saim Ayub flailing away outside off stump early on.

Ayub has had enough after three dot balls, and he clips Little away to leg but after a long time it drops to earth and plugs in the outfield with the batters coming back for just two. Little then gets one to rise off a length to keep Ayub honest.

Great shot. Classic Muhammad Rizwan as well. Just a shimmy down the pitch and punches it down the ground.
