  4. 'Incredible performance'published at 22:09 British Summer Time 13 September

England captain Phil Salt: "Incredible performance. What Liam did was incredible, we all know he is capable of that. To see Bethell to come out to play the way he did, not just the skill but the way he paced it and took probably their best bowler down, I was really impressed.

"I knew we would have to play well at the halfway mark. They had a good powerplay again and we let them get away a bit too quickly. I knew we had to play well through the middle, we talked about it at Southampton, so really pleased the boys have done it straight away.

On Jacob Bethell: "He is a real talent. It was the way he took down Adam Zampa. There are not a lot of people who can do that, especially in only their second match of international cricket. So really, really pleased for him.

Liam Livingstone staying in top four: "Definitely. He has played a lot of cricket and is no mug from that point of view. He has started well this series, with five wickets and over 100 runs in two games. Hopefully he takes that up to Old Trafford on Sunday."

On being wicketkeeper and captain: "I'm enjoying it. I think wicketkeeper is the best place to see the game from. I would have a few more 50-50 decisions if I was running around on the field."

  5. 'We were close'published at 22:05 British Summer Time 13 September

Australia captain Travis Head: "Good score, felt like we were right in the hunt and we were close. I thought Hardie had an exceptional couple of overs.

"You go with your gut and your game plan, we'll sit down but you play your best and sometimes it didn't come off.

"Should have bowled Short earlier! I know what he's going to offer, a nice option moving into the last T20 and the ODIs.

"I just tried to keep the ship rolling for Mitch [Marsh], hopefully he gets better and comes back."

  6. 'I'm enjoying my cricket'published at 22:02 British Summer Time 13 September

Player of the match Liam Livingstone: "Towards the end of the Hundred I felt I was getting my body back to normal, which is a thing that has bothered me the last couple of years. It has taught me a few life lessons but I am enjoying my cricket and playing with a smile on my face.

"Over the last couple of years you can only play with the hand you have been dealt. It is not easy coming in a five, six or seven. So moving up the order it gives me a bit more responsibility, time to bat, and I feel I am in decent nick at the moment with bat and ball. It has been a tough couple of years but I am back playing with a smile on my face."

On Jacob Bethell's performance: "I have seen it over the last couple of weeks in the Hundred. He is an incredible talent but he has a great head on very young shoulders. As an England fan is is exciting to have a player like that, with the talent he has got. To be out there batting with him in the middle, he is a fearless kid and to play like that at 20 is pretty special."

I think we have to remember Livingstone is a proper batter. There is nothing funky about his technique, he just has this ability to hit the ball. As he's become more of a T20 player he's erred to become a player who whacks the ball for 10 or 12 balls, so to see him up the order taking responsibility is a progression in his game.

To put that win into context. It is the joint highest T20 chase at Sophia Gardens - level with that 194 Somerset chased down against Glamorgan in 2003.

It's a monster from Livingstone. It was actually a controlled shot, right in the slot, he keeps his head down and swings through the line like a golf shot for a massive six.
