  1. Eng 78-2published at 8 overs

This could be a pivotal stage of the match - leggy Adam Zampa gets his first twirl of the night. He was superb in Southampton on Wednesday and is equally miserly here, conceding just four runs.

  2. Eng 74-2published at 7 overs

The hulking frame of Cameron Green comes into the attack and Phil Salt helps himself to four with a lovely swing through square leg.

England keeping up with Australia's rate.

Will Jacks is an outrageously talented batter and one England should invest in, but he's struggled in T20Is. No man has opened for England in this format as often, without registering a half-century.

Australia have the edge coming out of the powerplay.

This partnership between Phil Salt and Liam Livingstone feels crucial.

Nothing gets a home crowd going quite as much as a misfield from an opposition player.

Jake Fraser-McGurk batted superbly but it's his misfortune in the field that is really pleasing the fans in Cardiff.

  6. Eng 65-2published at 6 overs

    Wa-hey!

Bit of Village from Jake Fraser-McGurk as he misses his pick-up in the outfield and then slips over as he goes for the second attempt.

The ball tends to follow you in such situations and it does here, with Fraser-McGurk fumbling a Liam Livingstone pull over the rope.

He takes a couple of steps down the pitch and one swing, up on the leg on a flamingo - I'm not sure he even got hold of all of it.

  8. 6 runs

    Eng 48-2published at 4.4 overs

That was dismissive from Liam Livingstone, who skips forward and hammers Marcus Stoinis over deep mid-wicket for six.

Momentum in T20s can change so, so quickly.

  10. Eng 35-2published at 4 overs

Despite that failed review that was an excellent over from Sean Abbott, and a warning for me to stop talking up England's hopes whenever they hit a few sixes.

Nope. Was going over the top.

    Relief for England.

I think Liam Livingstone might be in trouble here, top of leg maybe.

  13. Australia reviewpublished at 4 overs

Is this a third? Liam Livingstone is caught high above the knee roll back in his crease.

The umpire says no but Australia send it upstairs.

Sophia Gardens was bouncing after those three Phil Salt sixes but you could hear a pin drop as Sean Abbott nips another one past Liam Livingstone.

Seriously impressive over this from the Aussie quick.

Will Jacks hasn't quite had his breakthrough innings for England. From 17 innings he has a highest score 40, averaging just under 16, a good strike-rate of 138.

Excellent bowling. It's cut back significantly just off the pitch, pace on, beautiful delivery. An unconventional type of wicket.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.3 overs

    Cox b Abbott 0 (Eng 34-2)

And Jordan Cox is bowled for a second ball duck.

It is great bowling from Sean Abbott, who gets one to nip back and cannon into the leg stump of Cox, who had backed away looking to give himself some room.

  18. Postpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 13 September

Jordan Cox is the next batter.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.1 overs

    Jacks c Fraser-McGurk b Abbott 12 (Eng 34-1)

Just as say that, Australia wrestle it back!

Will Jacks looks to stroke the ball off his pads over deep backward square but it can only drop out of the black Cardiff sky and land straight in the hands of Jake Fraser-McGurk.

  20. Eng 33-0published at 3 overs

Aaron Hardie looks a little rattled after those three Phil Salt sixes, bowling a wide before a single wraps up a brilliant over for England, with the momentum edging back towards them again.
