Superchargers 88-5published at 38 balls left

    Need 84 more

    David Miller hits another maximum.

At least, he is not giving up this chase.

  2. Phoenix heading to defeat against Spiritpublished at 40 balls left

Women's competition: Bimringham Spirit 58-7 against London Spirit (target 165)

Birmingham Spirit look set to lose for the fourth time in five games, sliding to 58-7 against London Spirit.

Their last recognised batter, wicketkeeper Amy Jones, was bowled by her England team-mate Charlie Dean before the spinner had Mary Taylor trapped lbw two balls later.

They still need 107 runs to win - the record margin of defeat in the competition is 82...

  3. Superchargers 82-5published at 40 balls left

    Need 90 more

Brilliant effort from Noor Ahmad to rein them in after that expensive over from Scott Currie.

Only two runs conceded by the left-armer.

Superchargers require 90 runs from 40 balls.

That's huge. David Miller's taken his bottom hand off the bat as he hit that. It's gone such a long way. Great elevation.

  5. 6 runs

Superchargers 80-5published at 45 balls left

    Need 92 more

An expensive set from Scott Currie - 17 runs coming from it.

And it's all from David Miller, including two fours and a huge six over the mid-wicket.

He has shifted into a higher gear here with the required run rate mounting for Superchargers.

That is brilliant from Sonny Baker! Dawid Mallan was just trying to pull a delivery that perhaps wasn't quite short enough or kept a little bit too low.

Either way, he is on his way back to the pavilion. That's a big blow for Northern Superchargers.

They need more than two runs per ball so they need to really put their foot down now.

    Sonny Baker cleans him up!

The slower ball from the young pacer does the trick as Dawid Malan tries to swing across but misses and pays a heavy price.

A crucial wicket for Originals as Superchargers' fortunes look bleak at the halfway stage.

  8. Superchargers 59-4published at 54 balls left

    Need 113 more

Sonny Baker is back for Originals.

  9. Superchargers 59-4published at 55 balls left

    Need 113 more

Scott Currie posted figures of 3-21 against Welsh Fire on Wednesday.

And he keeps things tight in this set, conceding just five runs and keeping the boundary away.

A really good 10 deliveries from Noor Ahmad. He is just showing why he is so sought after in franchise cricket.

He has so much variation, he has a brilliant orthodox delivery but he also has the googly as well.

Another classy shot from Dawid Malan!

He is that sort of player, isn't he? He is a touch player and he times the ball really well. I wouldn't say he is a player that bludgeons the ball, but he always hits with class.

  12. Superchargers 54-4published at 60 balls left

    Need 118 more

Noor Ahmad balls 10 on the trot.

Some cheeky bit of batting from Dawid Malan as he reverse-laps the second ball of the set to the boundary through third.

That's a lovely shot from David Miller!

It was just so wristy. That bottom hand just came through and he broke his wrist through the ball to drive it on the off side. There was a deep boundary rider out there but he wasn't quite straight enough to cut it off.

  14. Superchargers 47-4published at 65 balls left

    Need 125 more

David Miller joins forces with Dawid Malan in the middle for Superchargers.

And the South African is off the mark with a four, creaming it through cover from Noor Ahmad's penultimate delivery.

  15. Phoenix struggle in chasepublished at 67 balls left

Women's competition: Bimringham Spirit 38-3 against London Spirit (target 165)

Birmingham Phoenix continue to labour in their chase of 165 against London Spirit, losing two more batters in the space of nine balls.

Emma Lamb was run out for 23 by Issy Wong, attempting a second run after pushing to square leg, then Kira Chathli took her second catch of the match to remove Ellyse Perry off Charli Knott.

    Lawrence lbw b Ahmad 1 (Superchargers 42-4)

Pitching in line and clipping the off stump, and Dan Lawrence has to walk here.

He went for a reverse sweep and missed it completely.

It's not looking good for Superchagers.

  18. Superchargers reviewpublished at 69 balls left

    Superchargers 42-3

Have Originals got another one here?

Noor Ahmad comes into the attack and traps Dan Lawrence in front of the wicket.

It's given out on the field but Lawrence sends it upstairs.

That was a little bit top-edgy. A nice piece of bowling from Rachin Ravindra and a great catch from Matthew Hurts, his second catch of the game.

Ravindra has come on and got the breakthrough wicket of the dangerous Harry Brook.

  20. wicket

And Rachin Ravindra makes an instant impact.

Making his Hundred debut, the New Zealand international gets the big wicket of Superchargers captain Harry Brook.

Originals well and truly on top now!
