Summary

  1. dropped catch

    Originals 103-3published at 67 balls

Hands on heads. I'm not sure if this carried from Jos Buttler to his replacement as England captain Harry Brook.

That's exactly why Harry Brook brought Matthew Potts back, to break this partnership up. Things were starting to look ominous for the Originals. They'll be looking to post a big score on a used and slowish pitch.

  3. Originals 102-3published at 65 balls

Heinrich Klaasen is the new batter. He's a T20 superstar but has struggled for form in this year's tournament.

Matthew Potts responds! The Superchargers needed this. He uproots Rachin Ravindra's off stump and gives another fiery celebration.

That's actually a pretty hard shot from Rachin Ravindra. Wasn't really a full delivery from Matthew Potts, had to wait a bit longer and just drove it straight over his head.

  6. Originals 102-2published at 63 balls

The Superchargers' bowlers are being punished. Originals have laid the platform and this is time to attack.

Such a fantastic shot. He's using Jacob Duffy's pace, knew that he'd get the bounce to work with. As the third-man out that's the right option for Jos Buttler.

  8. Originals 93-2published at 60 balls

    Buttler 47, Ravindra 23

Jos Buttler scoops over Michael Pepper now as he plays all of his hits. He tries to repeat the shot a ball later but Jacob Duffy does well to hide the ball near the batter's right hip.

In this year’s Hundred, Jos Buttler has attacked 52% of deliveries against spin and 62% against pace.

Interestingly, despite being more aggressive against pace, he averages 33 against it, compared to 62 against spin. His strike-rate is also slightly better against spin (141) than pace (137).

Jos Buttler is just taking his medicine here. He isn't trying to take too many risks against MItchell Santner.

  11. Originals 85-2published at 55 balls

No boundaries from Mitchell Santner's set. He's a quality operator.

Mitchell Santner returns after the break. He still has 15 balls to bowl which will help the Superchargers.

  13. Spirit struggle in powerplaypublished at 50 balls

Women's competition: London Spirit 68-2 against Birmingham Phoenix

London Spirit have steadied the ship against Birmingham Phoenix, largely thanks to opener Kira Chathli.

The 26-year-old has hit five fours in her 22-ball 40 to help Spirit reach 68-2 at the half way stage.

That's 46 runs from the last 25 balls, after Spirit scored just 22 in the powerplay.

    Buttler 37, Ravindra 22

You can see the thinking from Harry Brook. Spin has been harder to hit on this pitch but is Dan Lawrence accurate enough to limit the hitting of these two?

This delivery is down the leg side and Rachin Ravindra can help himself.

There's a timely timeout for the Superchargers.

That's gone miles! That's an absolute monster!

I did think the change from Harry Brook to bring on Dan Lawrence was a little bit risky with Jos Buttler at the crease. I knew he would target him. It is a good match-up for Buttler - and he has hit that miles.

  16. 6 runs

Look out, Ruben! Huuuge from Jos Buttler.

More spin. Dan Lawrence is back.

I reckon Jos Buttler might aim for the football ground here. Watch out if you're over there.

Adil Rashid is getting punished! Rachin Ravindra goes back-to-back against England's leg spinner with one slog-sweep and a second finer effort. Four runs are added on both occasions.

The Originals are going well here now.

A lovely shot from Jos Buttler! That one was really well-executed.

Northern Superchargers didn't have a 45 in place, but they are putting a 45 in place now which will leave a gap at mid-wicket. That is a huge pocket!

  20. Originals 59-2published at 41 balls

Adil Rashid to Jos Buttler is a world-class battle and Buttler strikes the first bowl by paddling his England team-mate fine for four.

    Cheers from the home crowd.
