I'm ironing my umpire's kit ahead of an U13 game tomorrow in Cambridgeshire. Loving The Hundred coverage this year. I was at The Oval a few weeks ago to see the women's Vitality Blast final and then more recently to see the Originals beat the Invincibles in the women's match. I was glued to the low-scoring thriller earlier today, where the Originals squeaked over the line again. For this match, come on the Spirit!

  3. 6 runs

    Originals 140-3published at 90 balls

    Buttler 63, Klaasen 20

And this is what one good shot can do. Feeling a little taller, the chest puffed out a bit further, Heinrich Klaasen heaves a slog sweep high and long over mid-wicket.

160 remains the target. Adil Rashid to bowl the next five...

  4. Arlott strikes to remove Harrispublished at 83 balls

Women's competition: London Spirit 140-5 against Birmingham Phoenix

Em Arlott has her third wicket - and it's the important one of Grace Harris.

The Australian is known for her big-hitting at the close of the innings, but departs with 17 balls remaining in the innings.

It was an attempted reverse scoop from Harris, but she's struck on the pads right in front of the stumps.

She reviews immediately after being given out, but then walks off before we even get ball-tracking on screen - maybe she thought she heard an edge that wasn't there on screen?

  5. Originals 132-3published at 86 balls

Finally Heinrich Klaasen gets a boundary away as he swipes a reverse swish over third man to move to 13 runs from 13 balls.

How do you describe Jos Buttler as a player? He's a generational player in white-ball cricket. He's so accomplished in what he does. He's a joy to watch.

  7. Originals 126-3published at 85 balls left

    Buttler 62, Klaasen 9

Mitchell Santner, Matthew Potts and Adil Rashid each have five balls left. I assume it'll be those three to finish. Can any of them get Buttler out?

That was another massive hit from Buttler. He's entering his beast mode now.

I hope everyone in the party stand was paying attention to that.

  9. 6 runs

    Originals 124-3published at 82 balls

Into the towering temporary stand from Jos Buttler! He just wanders off for a chat having pumped one of the biggest hits of the day.

  10. Originals 116-3published at 80 balls

    Buttler 55, Klaasen 7

This innings could still go either way.

With Jos Buttler and 20 balls left, 160 is probably just in reach. If he gets out, and with Klaasen having taken 10 balls to score seven, it could fall away.

  11. Chathli departs for 69published at 73 balls

...but now Kira Chathli is out.

The London Spirit opener had just hit Ellyse Spirit for the 13th four of her innings, but is dismissed from the following ball attempting a ramp.

A thin edge and it goes through to Birmingham Phoenix wicketkeeper Amy Jones - the opener departs for 69 from 35 balls.

Jos Buttler's seventh fifty in The Hundred - joint-third for the most fifties in the men’s competition, alongside Phil Salt.

  13. Originals 113-3published at 78 balls

Heinrich Klaasen is struggling to get going again.

Jos Buttler's played so well, especially given the circumstances.

Today, Jos Buttler has been cautious against Mitchell Santner, scoring just six runs off 10 balls — in line with his historical record against the left-arm spinner.

In his T20 career, Buttler has been dismissed only once by Santner, averaging 103, but with a modest strike-rate of 115.

  16. Originals 112-3published at 75 nballs

    Buttler 54, Klaasen 4

Reverse sweep for four from Jos Buttler to Adil Rashid! Rashid was just beginning to join the dots. Buttler was having none of it.

  17. Big-hitting Harris makes good startpublished at 70 balls

Women's competition: London Spirit 111-3 against Birmingham Phoenix

The dangerous Grace Harris has made a strong start for London Spirit, hitting 18 from nine balls.

The Australian came to the crease after compatriot Charli Knott became the second Spirit batter to be bowled by Em Arlott.

Kira Chathli is alongside her, with the opener on 65 having reached her first Hundred half-century from 28 balls.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Jos Buttlerpublished at 70 balls

A chipped couple takes Jos Buttler to fifty and he looks to the sky again as he waves his bat. That's his second fifty in a row - both coming soon after the death of his father.

I think it's important Jos Buttler tries to bat another 15 balls and then he can really put the foot down.
