    Ash Gardner is in form.

  2. Aus 338-4published at 94 overs

Lauren Filer is tad too full to Ash Gardner with the penultimate ball of the over, but that takes nothing away from a classy on-drive from the Aussie batter.

More bad news for fans of England women's cricket. The Under-19s have lost in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, with India chasing down 113-8 with relative ease. They lost just one wicket in doing so and had five overs to spare. They will face South Africa in the final after the Proteas beat Australia.

Nice way to get off the mark for Ash Gardner.

  5. Aus 331-4published at 93 overs

Ash Gardner is off the mark with a freebie from Ryana MacDonald-Gay, who offers a full toss on her legs from her fourth delivery of the over. The Aussie all-rounder tucks into it with aplomb, whipping the ball to the boundary behind square.

  6. Aus 326-4published at 92 overs

A single and a wide off Lauren Filer's over and two more are added to the total. Australia lead England by 156 runs now.

Ellyse Perry is on the sidelines in training kit. It does not look like she is planning on batting today as she recovers from an injury sustained while fielding.

England have been completely dominated in this series. Dropping catches is a mental issue because I guarantee they do not drop them in practice. It's a mentality thing with them, which is not helped by not being able to take criticism.

  8. Aus 325-4published at 91.4 overs

Lauren Filer is having a few issues with her bowling boots (again) after slipping on her follow through (again). Some longer spikes are being screwed in.

  9. Aus 324-4published at 09:04 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

"C'mon Aussie, C'mon" blares out of the MCG public address system.

Ash Gardner the new batter. Can England open up an end, now?

Annabel Sutherland has been absolutely outstanding, the crowd giving her a cheer. She'll be mad that she got out though. What she has done so well this innings is get behind the ball. Since we came back from tea she didn't hit it as well but you can't take anything away from her with that 150.

Finally, England get the breakthrough. An extraordinary innings comes to an end.

    Sutherland b MacDonald-Gay 163 (Aus 324-4)

Relief for England, more than anything else.

A second Test double century will elude Annabel Sutherland on this occasion after she departs, bowled by Ryana MacDonald-Gay.

It's a full delivery from the young England seamer, who gets Sutherland with a nip-backer which slips beyond Sutherland's drive and bowls her through the gate.

It's wide outside the off stump. There's no foot movement from Annabel Sutherland, she's set and just flicks it over.

  16. Aus 321-3published at 90 overs

Lauren Filer looks a disconsolate figure as she walks back to her mark. She doesn't look like she believes she can take a wicket here.

Her final two balls of the over are wide outside of off stump and on both occasions Annabel Sutherland flashes at them hard. The Aussie all-rounder picks up back-to-back fours through the vacant third region.

Filer can only smile in disbelief and frustration.

Beth Mooney has become the 11th Australian to register 500 runs in women's Tests. She also goes past Karen Rolton to become the fourth highest run scorer for Australia in all internationals.

Most runs in women's internationals for Australia:

    • Meg Lanning - 8,352
    • Ellyse Perry - 7,224
    • Alyssa Healy - 6,741
    • Beth Mooney - 6,274
    • Karen Rolton - 6,221
  18. Aus 312-3published at 89 overs

Beth Mooney and Annabel Sutherland are going to take some shifting here. The lights are on, but I wonder if Heather Knight should give some of her part-time bowlers a go.

It's getting to the stage now where you wonder, how long will Australia bat for?

  20. 150 runs

150 for Sutherlandpublished at 88.2 overs

Annabel Sutherland pulls Lauren Bell in front of square, runs three, and reaches 150.

England dropped her twice earlier in her innings and hasn't she made them pay.

A second Test double hundred beckons here.
