How long do we reckon this lasts then? Eight overs? Ten? Twelve?

Finn Allen and Devon Conway are out in the middle, we're about to find out.

Former England and Papua New Guinea wicketkeeper on BBC Sounds

It wasn't an easy wicket and if a bowler says that, it means there's a little bit going on. A bit up and a bit down it really is difficult and not an easy task for the Papua New Guinea batters.

This is Trent Boult's last appearance for New Zealand in T20, but how many of this squad will be at the next World Cup in two years time?

Mark Chapman (30 next week), Glenn Phillips (27), Finn Allen and Rachin Ravindra (both 25) are the only players under the age of 32 in this 15-man group.

It's a team on the verge of a serious refresh.

  5. 'It feels a little bit weird'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 17 June

New Zealand bowler Trent Boult: "It feels a little bit weird, a few emotions obviously the last couple of days. Gutted to not go any further, but I'm very proud of what I've done with the Black Caps and sad it's my last day with New Zealand.

"I've shared a dressing room with Tim Southee for well over a dozen years. It's a partnership I've enjoyed forming, and we're very good friends off the field."

On his last delivery: "It was a bit weird, I chose a yorker - an attempted yorker. It's a great stage to be on, and I've enjoyed the last few days and that's all that matter

"Mixed emotions in the camp, we didn't start the way we wanted. We were off the boil, and T20 is a short format."

On whether this is his last game for New Zealand: "I haven't thought much further than this, I'm in no position to comment right now. I enjoyed being out there one last time."

    Thanks Stephan.

I've been plying him with brews the past few days despite not drinking tea myself - that is the very definition of generosity in my book.

Speaking of generous, here's Mike Peter.

This is the win predictor. Generous to PNG, I'd say.

Trent Boult is being interviewed. He says he's "not sure" if he will play for New Zealand again.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.4 overs

Nao c Mitchell b Sodhi 3 (PNG 78 all out)

All done. Alei Nao whacks straight into the hands of Daryl Mitchell at long-on.

That was routine for New Zealand, who will need only 79 to win.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.2 overs

Morea st Conway b Sodhi 0 (PNG 77-9)

Nine down. Eager to get on with it in the last over, Kabua Morea runs past Ish Sodi and is stumped by a long way.

  12. PNG 76-8published at 19 overs

Trent Boult is all done. Four overs, 2-14. What a bowler.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.4 overs

    Vanua c Mitchell b Boult 14 (PNG 76-8)

And he's got a wicket! Norman Vanua slices straight to Daryl Mitchell. Is that his last one as a Black Cap?

  14. PNG 76-7published at 18.3 overs

Trent Boult is scurrying in for what could be his final over in a New Zealand shirt.

  15. PNG 74-7published at 18 overs

Two to go. 11 from that Sodhi over makes three figures more likely, though still quite unlikely.

  16. 6 runs

    PNG 73-7published at 17.3 overs

Now then. Where has Norman Vanua been? Ish Sodhi is belted down the ground for six.

  17. PNG 67-7published at 17.1 overs

In case you missed it earlier, Lockie Ferguson bowled four overs without conceding a run. He also snaffled three wickets in the process. Take a look...

  18. PNG 63-7published at 17 overs

I guess the only question here is which of the threes will be used up first. The three remaining overs or PNG wickets.

    Will Young
New Zealand batter on BBC Sounds

Not quite short enough to pull and he was backing away. He'd have liked to have ended the innings with a flourishing boundary or two, but it was not to be.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.3 overs

    Doriga b Southee 5 (PNG 61-7)

Another goes. This time it's Kiplin Doriga, trying to give himself room, missing a swipe at Tim Southee and losing his leg stump. It's a bit of a procession now.
