  1. PNG 7-1published at 2 overs

Chalres Amini, into the PNG side today, is the new man. That means we have two left-handers. He's done by the swing and very fortunate that an inside edge goes for four, rather than on to the stumps.

Beautiful piece of bowling. You can see what the batsman's intention was, but it swung late, which Tim Southee does so well, and Glenn Phillips is rapid - he got under the ball easily.

    Ura c Phillips b Southee 1 (PNG 3-1)

Don't hit the ball in the air anywhere near Glenn Phillips.

There's a hint of swing for Tim Southee, Tony Ura slices the ball into the air on the off side and Phillips takes a simple catch running back from the edge of the ring. Easy as you like.

From a PNG perspective, they'll be looking to find the pace of the wicket. The ball will swing early on, if they can survive that unscathed then they can look to be more positive for the rest of the powerplay.

  5. PNG 2-0published at 1 over

It's swinging. Boult was on the money to right-hander Ura, but a bit too straight to left-hander Vala.

  6. PNG 1-0published at 0.4 overs

In the sort of coincidence a live text commentator loves, New Zealand prime minister Christopher Luxon got stuck in Papua New Guinea yesterday. His plane broke down., external

Trent Boult is opening the bowling for New Zealand. He's said he won't play another T20 World Cup. It's not impossible that this is his last game for New Zealand. What a bowler. Tony Ura and Assad Vala are opening the batting.

Even though we've had a delay, the match is still 20 overs a side. It's Monday morning in Trinidad. The ground is full of noisy schoolchildren. Get them back in class.

Papua New Guinea captain Assad Vala: “We’ll try to take the learnings from the last three games and try to improve. It will be a great challenge."

  11. 'It's been a frustrating'published at 16:28 British Summer Time 17 June

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson: "It's a new wicket and we'll try and make use of it.

"It's about putting out better performances. It's been a frustrating, the start wasn't what we wanted but there's been small improvements and hopefully more today."

  12. New Zealand win the toss and fieldpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 17 June

We've had a rain delay of pretty much an hour. The skippers dodged the showers and Kane Williamson won the toss. No surprise that New Zealand have chosen to field first.

    Right then.

The T20 World Cup group stage is coming to an end and so too are a few T20 international careers.

New Zealand, usually so reliable, have been desperately disappointing in this tournament and bow out against Papua New Guinea.
