Change of end for Freya Kemp as she replaces Lauren Bell.

Singles for Mooney sit either side of Litchfield getting off the mark with a two behind square.

That's the end of the powerplay - the second half of it was much better for England than the first.

  2. Aus 43-1published at 5 overs

Mooney takes a quick single from the final ball of the over.

Just the three runs from it - better from Dean after she conceded 17 from her first visit to the wicket.

  3. Not outpublished at 4.2 overs

    Aus 42-1

Ball tracking saves the day for Australia.

Umpire's call on impact and it has the ball bouncing high over the stumps - Mooney had advanced a fair way down the track and she survives on 14.

England are cock-a-hoop out there. It might have been drifting down the leg-side, that's the only thing that may save Beth Mooney.

  5. Australia reviewpublished at 08:40 Greenwich Mean Time

    Up go England again!

Dean strikes Mooney on the front pad as she goes to sweep, and the umpire throws up their finger.

    The opener reviews.

  6. Not outpublished at 4 overs

    Aus 40-1

    Nothing doing.

Litchfield absolutely waltzed across her stumps to try and play that shot and England fancied she might have feathered behind - no spike on snicko though, and England lose the review.

Litchfield tries to advance down the track to the following delivery, but can't get a bat on it.

  7. England reviewpublished at 08:37 Greenwich Mean Time

    And now Bell reviews another.

She thinks she has Phoebe Litchfield caught behind as she attempts an elaborate ramp shot.

    We go upstairs again.

It wasn't a great shot from Georgia Voll. It was great from Lauren Bell, just angled in enough and Voll got stuck in her crease.

England have the breakthrough that they so needed.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.3 overs

    Voll lbw b Bell 21 (Aus 40-1)

    Looked out. Is out.

Voll was struck on the back leg while trying to hit the ball square and ball tracking says her leg stump would have gone tumbling.

The 21-year-old debutant departs with 21 from 11 balls.

    But has Voll now?

Bell seems pretty confident she has the lbw and the umpire's finger goes up.

This is the 12th time Australia have scored 30 or more inside the opening three overs of the innings - they've gone on to win each of the previous 11 times when doing so.

Lauren Bell should have taken that; she only had to move to her right a couple of metres. Have England just dropped the Ashes?

  13. dropped catch

    Aus 38-0published at 3 overs

    Oh dear.

Georgia Voll toe-ends the ball in the air behind square. Lauren Bell runs back from short fine-leg and tries to take the catch, but she can't hold on and the ball runs away for four.

Voll moves to 17, and affords herself a wry grin.

And she can smile wider after the next delivery, smacking Dean through square leg for the fourth boundary of the over - 17 runs from it.

  14. Aus 30-0published at 2.4 overs

Change of bowler immediately as Charlie Dean replaces Freya Kemp.

There's no stopping Australia though as Mooney launches her through cover and Voll then clouts her through square leg.

Two fours, and the hosts are motoring.

Lauren Bell has generally struggled against Beth Mooney in T20s, conceding 90 runs off 59 balls without picking up her wicket. Nat Sciver-Brunt has dismissed Mooney most frequently in T20s among the side today, dismissing her four times in 98 balls while keeping her strike rate below 100.

It has been a bit sloppy from England in the field so far. They have given two freebies away for Australia already, which you don't want to be doing with so much on the line today.

We watched Georgia Voll bat during England's only warm-up game (well, 28 overs!) and she hit a half-century at better than a run-a-ball.

I've rarely seen the ball hit harder by a female player, and at just 21 years of age, that is quite something.

She already looks full of confidence, very secure in her running with Beth Mooney and prepared to take the bowlers down in the powerplay.

Another showcase of the Australians' staggering depth.

  18. Aus 21-0published at 2 overs

    Sloppy from England.

Voll picks up a single after Sophia Dunkley lets her drive break through at point, then gets two more as Danni Wyatt-Hodge takes a pointless throw at the non-striker's end and concedes an overthrow.

  19. Aus 16-0published at 1.2 overs

Lauren Bell at the other end for England, and she concedes a wide from her second delivery.

The following ball starts drifting down the leg side and Beth Mooney clips it away smartly for four through backward square.

Freya Kemp hasn't got her radar quite right at the moment. There is a little bit of swing around for her and her left-arm pace is very difficult to negotiate when she gets it right.
